Hello! I’m Cynthia, an energy worker and educator. I’m passionate about helping people heal because it took years to find my own path to wellness. After struggling with chronic pain and fatigue for too long, I found ways to fuel my body’s natural ability to heal itself. I discovered the power of energy healing through my own Reiki work and working with other healers, and was eventually called to s

tart up my own practice.

Now I teach the self-healing techniques I’ve learned and benefited from through my Wholistic Wellness class series and offer individualized energy healing sessions that include Reiki, energy medicine, reflexology, and crystal therapy. I hope you’ll join me on the path to Wellness!

Arctic Shamanic Trip Slideshow and Presentation, this Friday at 7 PM on Zoom!!

How to join: message me on FB or IG, or reply to the event post on FB and I'll send you the Zoom link: https://www.facebook.com/share/19b6HDGDFL/
(If you've already responded to the FB event, thank you [!!], and I'll get you the Zoom link later today).

After spending 8 days in Sápmi - the Nordic Arctic - studying shamanic and indigenous practices, I am excited to share what I learned, the stunning landscape (and reindeer!) I was immersed in/with, and how it will affect all aspects of my shamanic practice now that I've returned and begun integrating the energy of my experiences.

Some of the topics I'll cover include Nordic indigenous teachings and perspectives on shamanism, increasing spirit connectivity, the challenges and benefits of living in the Arctic environment, and how I see my practice versus 'Western Shamanism', now through a finer lens.

Stories from Jungle, the Sámi shaman I studied with, will be interwoven with insights into the deep inner work I benefited from during my time with this amazing group of instructors and participants.

And finally, I'll share what's next! Upcoming classes and workshops, influenced by my time in Sápmi, are coming up soon. I hope you'll join me!

More pictures and memories from my trip to the Arctic.

More reindeer! Reindeer comforters, faux reindeer dropping snacks (the Finns take reindeer stuff seriously),reindeer in the road (which some people enjoy more than others) and antler bits that were a gift to all of us from a fellow retreat attendee. The energy in this antler piece is off the charts.

And… a beautiful soul (who happens to be a US ex-pat living in northern Norway and a new, good friend), gave me her gorgeous winter reindeer fur to take home. (She insisted, having far easier access to replace this than I have to get one at all).

I learned that Reindeer are the only deer species that can see in color, and Sami traditional clothing is very colorful to reflect this (allowing them to be seen better by their reindeer herds).

Events during the retreat included two lengthy talks from Jungle (Sami shaman), and two hikes he led to sacred sites (I didn’t make the hikes for several reasons… so I need to go back next year!!); shamanic breathwork, guided meditations, a shamanic dance party on our last night, and herb collecting with the wise and fabulous Anu.

The schedule was meant for us to pick and choose from, given our needs at any time. So there was daily morning yoga (that I slept through), sauna treatments, and healing offered by attendees that were peppered throughout the week.

I didn’t get much sleep - hence sleeping through yoga every morning! It is very difficult to sleep when the sun never sets… (window pic is from 11:30 PM). I’m still exhausted, lol.

If you’re able to make the ceremony on the 8th (contact me if you’d like more info), I’ll dig into details of what I learned from Jungle, and my biggest takeaways from the week (mainly that shamanism is as much about how we live our daily lives as it is about spirits and ceremonies - not a new concept if you’re taking class with me!).

I am back from the Arctic! It was an amazing experience, one that keeps unfolding and will for quite some time. I’m excited to bring new perspectives on shamanism to classes, ceremonies, and healing sessions with you all. Thank you for your support in getting me up there!

Highlights:

Reindeer everything. I ate reindeer stew and jerky, stepped in reindeer p**p, lay on reindeer skins, got reindeer hair on all my clothes, and of course the best - reindeer visits and sightings. Being immersed in the land of my shamanic lineage and guides was beyond compare.

I learned shamanic breath techniques (which involved hyperventilating for over 10 minutes at times) to promote journeying, visited Sami sacred plants, springs, and places, and worked with Jungle Svonni, the Sami shaman I went up there to learn from. He’s fabulous and was an inspiration to all of us who gathered to be with him. Some of his teachings were direct, but many were much more subtle. I’m still learning from my time with him.

Indigenous politics were a big part of our stay in Sapmi (land of the Sami, the indigenous people of much of the Nordic Arctic), particularly understanding their perspective on shamanism and our leader’s efforts to bridge a gap that has been in place in their culture for hundreds of years, thanks to colonization. Our leaders did beautiful work to promote shamanism and make it acceptable in the small Sami village we were in. Why it isn’t is a longer story, and one I’ll share in depth when I offer my slideshow and presentations this fall.

Much more to come! I’ll post the dates of my presentations when they’re set - one will be in person in Stow, MA, and the second will be on Zoom. And if you’d like to gather in community and hear more before then, join my monthly Shamanic Journey and Drumming group on August 15th from 11:30 - 1:30 in Stow.

To my amazement, I'm headed off to the Arctic (N. Finland) to study Nordic shamanism and indigenous practices for 8 days! Manifesting this has been quite the experience! (And I could use a little help! gofund.me/26a9fae96)

I'm excited to bring teachings and inspirations from my trip to future classes, ceremonies, and my healing practice. And to make powerful connections that will enrich all I do and offer in the future!

I will share my experiences and their impact on me and my practice this fall, both in person (in Stow, MA) and online. Stay tuned! I look forward to connecting when I return! 💜

Join me by Zoom for a weekly in-depth journey with the Norse Runes, exploring the energy of each stave and aett (group or family) in the Elder Futhark. In this initial series of 8 weekly classes, we will work with one rune per week, covering the first aett in the Futhark. The second and third aettir will be covered in the following two 8-class series.

Each 90-minute class will explore one of the runes in depth through music, discussion, meditation/shamanic journey work, and divination practice. Each series will also explore the energy of the related aett, and how that family or group of runes fits and works together.

No experience with runes or Norse mythology is required, but a commitment to the work is requested. Registration is for the first 8-week class series only, exploring the first aett in the Elder Futhark. Dates for the second aett class series are forthcoming.

Classes will be recorded for participants’ private use for catch-up on a missed session or for review.

Cost: $120 for 8 weekly 90-minute classes

Dates: Thursdays May 21st – July 9th, 6:30 – 8 PM

Registration and payment are required to hold a spot. To register, email: [email protected]. The class Zoom link will be sent out once payment and registration are received.

Our monthly Shamanic Journey and Drumming group meets on the third Saturday of every month. This is a drop-in event, and no experience with shamanism, journeying, or drumming is required – just a curious and open heart!

Shamanic journeying is a powerful practice that anyone can learn and use. Working in the spirit realm teaches us true freedom and self-empowerment. There, we have access to other worlds. We connect with the energy that underlies the physical world and receive guidance from our spirit guides and ancestors. Moreover, we gain the ability to heal ourselves at the deepest level.

Shamanic drumming is both a healing art and a catalyst for shamanic journeying. At our gatherings, we will explore both ways of working with rhythm. Participants are encouraged to bring (or make!) a rhythm instrument for healing work, but extras are available for those who don’t have one.

Location: The Unitarian Church of Marlboro and Hudson (UCMH), 80 Main St., Hudson, MA, upstairs in the Knight Room. Enter through the side (Church St.) door and come up the stairs.

Cost: $5 for UCMH Members and shamanic students; $10 for non-Members/students

I know many of you are feeling difficult feelings today. So am I. I did this reading last night (before knowing the news), and when I came back to it this morning, it felt like a balm. So I offer this for all of us who are feeling challenged right now.

The layout from left to right: A Message, You, Action, Guidance; and the card above oversees the reading. The spread starts from the 2nd card to the left (You), goes to the 1st (Message), then Action and Guidance, and then our top card. Let's dig in.

Yeah, Loss. This is such an accurate card for today. It freakin' hurts. But what's important to remember is that even though the loss looms large, there are blessings in the background that will come forward. Although focusing on the loss is tempting, it's more important to look to our blessings to sustain us.

The Hanged One has a beautiful message to offer us. Rachel Pollack says of the Hanged Man that it "serves as a very direct symbol of the reversal of attitude that comes through spiritual awakening. Where everyone else is frenzied, you will know peace." Let us know peace today. Let's remember the bigger truths of beauty and light, and not let the petty actions of others move us from this knowledge. Bask in the light, and stay open to the greater truth - that the world is much, much more than this physical reality. We can transcend the mundane world when we hold this truth in our hearts.

Our action is to focus on the enchantment of the natural and unseen worlds. Hunker down if you need to, but don't lose sight of the beauty around you. Surround yourself with it; immerse yourself in it. When we zoom out from the small day-to-day view, we can't help but see the light and beauty that surrounds us.

For those who are ready, the action is more direct. We must create that enchanting world. Not just for ourselves, but for everyone we come in contact with. Nurture and spread enchantment.

Our guidance is to begin again, to start from zero. What's past can't be changed, but we can move through the world like a new soul and find amazement and wonder in everything. See the light in others, regardless of their words or actions. Long post; see comments for the finish!
