✨ Why Filler Stops Working After 45 ✨
If you are over 45 and filler is not giving you the result it used to, there is usually a reason for that.
In your 30s and early 40s, you could start to lose volume and see lines. That is why filler can soften lines, restore fullness, and help the face look more refreshed. But as we move into our mid-40s and beyond, the face often starts changing in a different way.
The deeper support structures begin to loosen. The ligaments relax, the soft tissues start to descend, and the face is no longer just losing volume - it is shifting downward. That is when patients start noticing heaviness along the jawline, deeper folds around the mouth, changes in the neck, or a general sense that something feels “off.”
When we keep trying to fix that stage with filler alone, we are often adding volume to a face that is already descending. Instead of lifting, it can start to feel heavier and less natural.
That is why filler can seem like it “stopped working.” It is not necessarily that anything went wrong. It is that the face has reached a different stage and needs a different kind of solution.
With a deep plane facelift, I am not just adding volume or camouflaging the change. I am repositioning the deeper layers of the face back to where they used to be. That is why the result can look more natural - you still look like you, just more defined and more like yourself again.
