Many patients tell me their eyes make them look tired even when they feel well rested. Upper and lower eyelids, however, do not age in exactly the same way.

Upper blepharoplasty typically addresses excess skin or fullness that can weigh on the upper lid. Lower blepharoplasty may involve under-eye bags, skin laxity, lower-lid support, or the transition between the eyelid and cheek.

These are different anatomical problems, so the operation should not be planned as if they were one.

My goal is to create a more rested appearance while preserving the expression that makes your face yours. Swelling and bruising are expected, and the final result becomes clearer as the tissues heal. A careful examination determines whether one area or both should be treated.

Having a Tummy Tuck does not prevent a woman from becoming pregnant in the future.

The main concern is that another pregnancy can stretch the abdominal skin and supporting tissues again after they have already been surgically corrected.

For example, someone may maintain a very stable result for years and later develop new skin laxity or abdominal wall changes after another pregnancy.

That is why I include future family plans in the conversation when we discuss the timing of surgery.

When another pregnancy is expected relatively soon, it may make sense to consider postponing the procedure so the result can be planned around the patient's longer-term goals.
