Exercise Inspired by the Four of Cups
The Four of Cups often appears when opportunities, blessings, or support are being offered, yet fear, disappointment, or old expectations keep us from recognizing them. This card invites us to open our hearts to what is available now rather than focusing on what has not yet arrived.
Find a comfortable place to sit and close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose. As you inhale, imagine new opportunities, possibilities, and blessings flowing toward you. See this energy entering your body with your breath, filling every cell with openness, hope, and receptivity.
Allow yourself to receive without questioning whether you deserve it.
Take another deep breath and silently affirm:
“I am open to receiving the gifts that are meant for me.”
As you slowly exhale, bring your awareness to any resistance that arises. Notice where it lives in your body. Is it a tightness in your chest? A knot in your stomach? A heaviness in your shoulders? Simply observe without judgment.
Ask yourself:
* What am I afraid will happen if this opportunity succeeds?
* What part of me doubts I am worthy of receiving this?
* What past disappointment am I carrying that makes it difficult to trust what is being offered now?
With each exhale, imagine that resistance softening and loosening its grip. You do not need to force it away. Simply acknowledge it and allow it space to move.
Continue breathing slowly.
With every inhale, welcome possibility.
With every exhale, release fear, doubt, and the need to control the outcome.
When you feel ready, place a hand over your heart and affirm:
“I trust the opportunities that are unfolding for me. I release resistance and open myself to receive with gratitude and grace.”
Take one final deep breath. As you return to the present moment, notice what feels different.
