“Off” Season Week 96 ✅

Average AM bodyweight: 193.5 lbs (up from 192.4 lbs 4 weeks ago). For reference: lowest prep weigh-in in 2024 was 165.1 lbs, peak ~168 lbs.

Bodyweight continues to climb slowly with minimal changes in condition. I don’t think I’ve ever had visible glute striations in side shots in the mid-190s before. Condition now is similar to what it was in Jan/Feb but ~7 lbs heavier.

I took a deload last weekend after ~10 weeks of “normal” training (which I deliberately aligned with OCB Presidential Natural Bodybuilding Show last weekend). Training is slowly progressing, & accuracy continues to improve.

Last weekend was the start of travel to a handful of shows; I currently plan on being at the following shows, all as a fan & some in an official capacity with Natty News Daily:
WNBF Ontario 8/22 (next weekend)
Washington State Natural Pro/AM 🐉 9/12
Mr America™️ 10/10
WNBF OFFICIAL Worlds 11/21

I’m very much looking forward to these weekends and seeing friends I don’t get to see in person often.

In the past month I’ve also noticed my nervous system is getting much closer back to my “normal/old self”. I’ve historically been quite low in Big Five Trait Neuroticism & to see that normalize lately has been a relief. I’m very inclined to think this stress reduction goes hand in hand with recent rapid improvements in body composition.

I think I’m currently a good groove & hoping to continue carrying that momentum.

Work continues. No quit.

Pete Leonard made his OCB pro debut today at the OCB Presidential Natural Bodybuilding Show 🇺🇸

He came away with top three in his class & made it to the overall!!! I am super proud of this guy; he’s executed like a professional throughout the entire prep & he certainly displayed that today in Washington, DC. Class act, family man, & outstanding pro natural bodybuilder. Congratulations Pete!! Thank you for blessing me with your trust; I’m grateful for you brother.

“Off” Season Week 92 ✅

Average AM bodyweight: 192.4 lbs (up from 191.7 lbs 4 weeks ago). For reference: lowest prep weigh-in in 2024 was 165.1 lbs, peak ~168 lbs.

The pace of recent body recomposition has seemed to slow just a bit, but I’m still noticing regular visual improvements. I think I added more than 5 lbs of lean body mass in the past 3-4 months, at least visually, which is pretty wild. I think I’m finally in a place where my physique is actually better than it was in late 2023/early 2024 (from comparing visuals at similar bodyweight).

During the early parts of the recomp, the most drastic areas of visual improvement seemed to be in my upper body (particularly arms, delts, & midsection/abs). I think some of that might have been regain of lost tissue. My legs have also notably improved but at a slightly slower pace. When hormonal/health conditions were poor, I think I still managed to grow my legs slightly since during that time I improved my skill in training & tensioning specific parts of my legs (primarily lateralis, adductors, & hamstrings). I don’t think I had as much, or any, tissue to regain in my lower body. Now that I think my upper body seems “fully recomped” my legs seem to be growing the fastest of everything. I am interested to see how they continue to respond now that conditions for growth are much more favorable.

Outside of bodybuilding, I’m also continuing to take active steps at improving my social & spiritual life. I’m not quite as skilled in those areas as I am bodybuilding, work, finances, etc. (which makes sense given my history of effort allocation) but I need to be better in order to become the person & attain the life I envision.
