You know the song, “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose.”
Yeah.. I remixed it this week. “Chestnuts laying all around with shell needles in my toes.”
If you know me, you know I’m a barefoot kind of gal. Always have been and even after this, always will be. Just.. maybe not around the chestnut tree.
My husband and I were working on our camper 2 weeks ago and I felt a prick in my right foot. Not even 2 steps later, the same pain in my left. Asked Jesus WHY He made chestnut shells so prickly and moved on with our project.
Fast forward to this week. I was walking and felt a pain in my left foot. My sweet husband examined it and said I had a splinter.
Drawing salve and bandage for 2 days. It always works, except this time it didn’t 🙃 skin had already grown over the area and inflammation had set in.
So, this evening, I pulled not 1, but 3 splinters out of my foot.
As a nurse, I’ve seen A LOT. Minor things can turn major, quick. So, of course my next move was a detox bath.
