Long post ahead but worth the read!!!
Five years.
It’s hard to believe that The Brook Center has been serving children and families for five years. What started as a dream to make a difference has grown into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
Over the last five years, we’ve had the privilege of serving families across Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys, and Houston Counties. We’ve watched children take their first steps toward independence, celebrate milestones that once felt out of reach, and build skills that have changed their everyday lives.
But what I’m most proud of isn’t our growth.
It’s our people.
Every BCBA, BCaBA, RBT, and
administrative team member who has walked through our doors has helped shape who we are today. Their compassion, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond for the children and families we serve is what makes The Brook Center special.
As the owner, one of my greatest responsibilities is not only caring for the families who trust us with their children, but also caring for the incredible professionals who make this work possible. I firmly believe that when you invest in your team, support them well, and create a culture built on respect and integrity, they can provide the very best care to the families they serve.
When I first became an RBT, I fell in love with the science of behavior analysis. I loved understanding the why behind behavior. I loved that we could measure meaningful progress, make data-informed decisions, and teach skills that truly improve quality of life.
Today, I still love all of those things.
But I’ve realized my purpose has grown.
Today, I have the opportunity to support children, empower families, mentor clinicians, and build a team of professionals who share the same mission—to provide compassionate, ethical, individualized ABA services that truly make a difference.
The past five years haven’t always been easy. Owning a business comes with challenges, hard decisions, and lessons I never expected to learn. But every obstacle has reinforced why The Brook Center exists.
We believe every child deserves individualized care—not a one-size-fits-all approach.
We believe families deserve honesty, collaboration, and a voice in their child’s treatment.
We believe ethical, compassionate ABA changes lives.
And we believe our people are our greatest strength.
To every family who has trusted us, every staff member who has been part of this journey, and every community that has welcomed us—thank you.
Five years is only the beginning.
Here’s to continuing to learn, to grow, and to serve our communities with the same heart that started it all.
