Today is National Sunscreen Day… who even knew that was a thing? ☀️

But it’s actually a great reminder heading into summer.

I recently heard that tanning bed use is increasing again among young people, likely influenced in part by social media tanning trends. Unfortunately, tanning beds dramatically increase the risk of skin cancer.

If you want that summer glow without damaging your skin, try tinted makeup or a tinted sunscreen instead.

And remember — not all sunscreens are created equal.

Look for mineral-based sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These ingredients sit on top of the skin, reflect UV rays, and are generally considered safer for both our bodies and the environment.

What about Vitamin D? During the summer, many people can get enough from just 5–15 minutes of midday sun exposure, depending on skin tone, weather, and location.

It’s titled "Is Loving Food the Secret to Eating Less of It?" and it is such a breath of fresh air! He talks about how moving away from self-denial and toward true enjoyment helped him reclaim his health.

We all know candy isn’t great for us because of the sugar…
But a recent study by Healthy Florida First found that many popular candy brands may also contain elevated levels of arsenic.

And here’s something else to be aware of: chocolate—especially dark chocolate—can contain lead and cadmium. Not because they’re added, but because cacao plants naturally absorb these metals from the soil.

Why does this matter?

Because it’s not just about calories or sugar anymore. Sugar can disrupt the balance of your gut, and heavy metals may place added stress on your digestive system and your body’s natural detox processes.

Definitely gives you pause.

Want to feel amazing in that dress? Skip the gimmicks. 👗

One of my favorite success stories comes from a client who reached out a year before her son’s wedding. She didn’t want a "quick fix" that would leave her exhausted. She wanted real, sustainable change.
