A little bit of this, a little bit of that: what’s in my fridge this week 🍓🌽🍩🍠🧀🥕

Feeding yourself and your family does not have to look perfectly planned or Pinterest worthy. Sometimes it looks like raviolis for a quick weeknight dinner, berries that everyone keeps reaching for, and a few easy staples that make meals and snacks less stressful.

When we hear the word nourishment, it’s easy to think only about food. And yes, food is part of it.

But nourishment can also look like slowing down when you’re tired. Calling a friend. Moving your body in a way that feels good. Spending time outside. Setting a boundary. Letting yourself rest without feeling like you have to earn it.

As you head into the day, consider this:
What does your body need?
What does your mind need?
What does your heart need?

Nourishment comes in many forms 💙

Imagine waking up tomorrow and realizing food was just food.

No “good” or “bad.” No rules about what you should choose. No guilt for what sounds satisfying. No mental checklist before eating out with friends or walking through the grocery store.

There may not be a magic spell that makes diet culture disappear overnight, but there is a path toward food freedom. A world where your choices are not run by guilt, fear, or “shoulds” is possible.

If you’re ready to move toward that possibility, reach out to us! We’d love to work with you 🫶

Recovery asks you to do the thing your eating disorder has convinced you is unsafe.

Eating the meal.
Adding the snack.
Resting instead of compensating.
Choosing nourishment even when guilt shows up.

Doing it does not mean the fear disappears. It means you are practicing listening to the part of you that wants healing more than the part of you trying to keep you stuck. For that, you should be *very* proud of yourself!

And always remember that you deserve support as you rebuild trust with food and your body. We believe in you 🫶

When we model restrictive eating behaviors, even unintentionally, our kids pick up on it. Sharing meals and listening to our bodies together matters.

If you’re ready to build a healthier relationship with food, I’m here to support you!

Kids learn so much by watching us, including how we approach food.

When they see us being curious, trying new things, and keeping different foods on the table without pressure, it helps make variety feel more normal over time.

Expanding our kids’ plates starts with ours 🍓🥑🍇

Just a note: this doesn’t apply to neurodiverse kids or kids with sensory sensitivities 🤍

The other night my daughter was talking in her sleep and said “no, don’t put more broccoli on my plate” 😅

It reminded me how normal picky eating phases are.

If you’re in it right now:
1️⃣ Keep offering the foodEven if they’re not eating it yet, exposure still matters

2️⃣ Always include a safe foodSomething you know they’ll eat so meals don’t feel stressful

3️⃣ Make it fun Different shapes, cute utensils, switching things up
Even touching or licking the food counts as progress!

This phase can feel frustrating, but it doesn’t last forever

If food feels stressful, don’t blame yourself 🚫

There’s usually more going on underneath, like:
• not eating enough or going too long without food
• meals that don’t feel satisfying
• trying to follow too many food rules
• feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected

When your body isn’t getting what it needs, things can start to feel chaotic or out of control.

Working with a dietitian can help you make sense of it all and build a more steady, less stressful relationship with food 🤍
