I heard the statement above on a recent podcast and thought “wow is that what training advice has come to?”

You can make pain free choices and get stronger. We just have to stop quantifying strong by barbell numbers.

If unilateral loading is becoming an issue try a fully unsupported 1 leg squat. 50% of bodyweight equates to a double bodyweight back squat ( for reference see .natera )

People commenting on yesterday’s post mentioned loading being an issue. It won’t be an issue with unsupported 1 leg squats or skater squats, trust me.

Bonus - glute med, QL and adductor activity as stabilizers!

Just a little reminder. You can goblet squat and kettlebell deadlift. Progression can be moving to unilateral exercises....
