Shrubs w/ Todd

Simple Shrub Recipie (hot method)

1:1:1:1
One part juicy fruit (think berries, peaches, or melon)
One part water
One part sugar or honey
One part apple cider vinegar (raw is recommended for extra nutritional value)

STEP 1: Add fruit to pot with water. Bring it to a boil then turn down to simmer for about 10-15 min.

STEP 2: Add sugar or honey (if using honey, wait till after you strain the fruit to add).

STEP 3: Strain out fruit (careful not to mash it). You should end up with close to the same amount of water you put in. If you are short, add a little more water before adding your vinegar.

STEP 4: Add vinegar and stir or shake well

STEP 5: Enjoy a tasty shrub by adding add 1-2 tablespoons to 8oz of water (still or sparkling). Very refreshing!

There are so many ways to make a shrub, depending on what fruit/herb combo, sweetener and vinegar type you use.
