🌿 A Journey That Shaped My Heart for Healing 🌿

Fourteen years ago, I spent a summer in the Philippines volunteering as a medical missionary. (Then I returned again two years later) What I experienced there was truly humbling and remains one of the most meaningful chapters of my journey in caring for others.

Serving patients and witnessing their strength, gratitude, and resilience reminded me that healthcare is not simply about treating the body—it is about compassion, listening, dignity, and caring for the whole person.

That experience has stayed with me over the years and continues to influence the way I serve my patients today at Willow Wellness. I carry those lessons with me every day: to slow down, listen deeply, and remember the person behind every health concern.

Looking back 14 years later, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve through medical mission work in the Philippines. Sometimes the experiences that humble us the most are the ones that shape us the greatest. 💚

👏As my patients know the WHI study had some data issues (in 2002). A FEW years later (this year-2026), it was recognized & now we as a medical society are working to better improve our patients longevity💕 However, most providers understood the data had some issues from the beginning but it took a little time to prove… Medicine isn’t always perfect, but it’s getting on the right path & moving forward that’s important.

✨A big shout-out to Erin and the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce williamsburgiowa for putting together another great First Friday on the Square! ❤️

The sign was a great reminder this morning of the community growth happening right here in Iowa. It’s wonderful to see the community come together, especially during the summer, and to see the kids enjoying the fun and activities.

Events like these bring people downtown, support our local businesses, and create great memories for our families.
