Albright LIFE is where seniors go to thrive so they can stay in their homes as long as possible. Participants have the opportunity to come during the day for social activities, therapy and nutritional meals to keep their bodies and minds healthy and active. LIFE is comprised of dedicated professionals, caregivers and an on-site physician who provide a high level of all-inclusive onsite expert care

as participants need it. Funding may be provided by Medicare, Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance or private resources and participants must live in the service area of the LIFE Center, be 55+ and nursing home eligible.

Participants recently had the opportunity to learn about community transportation during a visit from River Valley Transit, our local city bus service!

The River Valley Transit team spent time answering questions, discussing bus services, and helping participants become more comfortable with using public transportation. Participants were able to board the bus using the accessibility ramp, learn about the safest seating options, and see firsthand how walkers and mobility devices can be accommodated while riding.

The employees and drivers did an outstanding job making everyone feel welcome and confident, helping to ease fears about riding the city bus. They even brought along some goodies for participants to enjoy!

Access to reliable transportation is an important part of maintaining independence and staying connected to the community. Whether it's shopping, visiting friends and family, attending appointments, or simply getting out and about, public transportation can open the door to many opportunities. For participants interested in using the bus, we also help connect them with information about obtaining bus passes and navigating the system.

Our Garden Club recently welcomed special guest Bea Brown, Master Gardener, for an afternoon full of learning, gardening, and fun!

Bea shared helpful tips on planting and maintaining a healthy garden, including ways to retain moisture, improve soil health, and use fertilizer more effectively. Participants were especially fascinated by her vermicomposting demonstration, where she introduced her red worms and explained how their castings create nutrient-rich fertilizer for plants.

We learned several new gardening tricks, including staking tomato plants at the time of planting to avoid disturbing the roots later and adding straw or other bedding materials to help the soil retain moisture during hot summer days. Bea also suggested planting flowers among vegetables to encourage a healthier, more vibrant garden.

After the presentation, participants put some of Bea’s suggestions into practice and planted flowerpots for the porch. Everyone enjoyed getting their hands dirty and spending a beautiful afternoon in the garden!

What a wonderful afternoon of music and memories! 🎶🌸

Today we were delighted by a special Spring concert from the New Horizon Band, “The Encores,” from Robert M. Sides. Our participants enjoyed an incredible performance featuring many familiar tunes, including several favorites from years gone by that brought back lots of smiles and memories.

Today we continued one of our favorite Memorial Day traditions — placing flags on the graves of veterans in honor of their service and sacrifice.

This marks our third year participating in this meaningful day. Flags were provided through the Lycoming County Veterans Affairs office, and together our participants and staff carefully placed them throughout the cemetery.

We were especially proud to have two veterans from our own group join us:
❤️ Richard, who served in the Army
💙 Joyce, who served in the Air Force

Many participants and staff dressed in red, white, and blue or wore remembrance shirts to show their support and gratitude. After the flags were placed, participant Sarah offered a beautiful prayer at the cemetery in honor of our nation’s heroes.

We ended the day together with lunch at Waltz’s Creamery, a special way to reflect, connect, and continue this meaningful tradition.

Thank you to all who have served. We remember and honor you this Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Roy and Taneeka had a fantastic time at the health fair at Williamsport Elderly! 🎉

They provided free blood pressure checks for guests. Along with screenings, there were lots of great conversations, helpful health information shared, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Derby Day came early for us!

We hosted our very own horse races in celebration of the Kentucky Derby happening tomorrow—and it was a hit! 🎉

Residents enjoyed mock mint juleps, placed their bets with “fun money,” and cheered on their horses as dice rolls determined each move. The competition was fierce, but in the end, Danny came out on top with the biggest winnings! 🏆

Such a fun way to bring the excitement of the Derby right to us!
