It is with a profound sense of satisfaction and nostalgia that I am announcing my retirement from Safe Harbor Mental Health, effective September 1st, 2025.

This website will persist as a valuable resource, furnishing pertinent information in the mental health field.

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of collaborating with numerous exceptional patients/individuals. As I conclude my practice, I will continue to maintain my existing patient relationships until sept via telehealth, while not accepting new patients.

While in retirement, I aspire to continue my work with the homeless population (with GRANT’s spirit ā€œbeside meā€) and engage in swim coaching, providing swim clinics and mental health training to groups.

I will continue adding to the series of books I have written, ā€œIt’s Okayā€ books (with more forthcoming). I wholeheartedly recommend the therapists at Safe Harbor, having worked closely with them and supervised their development. They possess a deep understanding of mental health services, demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and personal qualities to facilitate growth. For inquiries, please contact 304-375-8800. For continued support and assistance, please reach out to Caleb Darling, April Hehr, David Schaffer, Doug Pfieffer, Heather Ward, and Patrick Ward.
