These are the Four Dravidian Icons

Periyar (1879-1973) — Tamil Nadu's most radical social reformer. Fought caste discrimination and religious superstition when it was deeply dangerous to do so. Tamil Nadu's answer to Ambedkar.

C.N. Annadurai (1909-1969) — Founded the DMK party. Resisted the central government's attempt to impose Hindi on Tamil speakers — a fight that still resonates today.

Karunanidhi / Kalaignar (1924-2018) — Six-time Chief Minister and celebrated Tamil literary figure. Led the Dravidian movement for five decades through extraordinary odds.

M.K. Stalin (born 1953) — Most recent Chief Minister, 2021-2026. Delivered welfare programs that directly improved millions of ordinary Tamil lives.
