No More Tattoos: An Experiment

Thanks to Liz Lane Art and Gallery, we might have a new way of fighting against AI.

She has left Meta and moved to Patreon. We have plenty of research to do, but we love Pomplamoose over here, so we're not entirely rational.

Insta has been profitable for us and we're not pretending like this will be an easy shift, but, like every tattoo Kristen crafts, By Her Hand is a long-term project. Meta is increasingly short-sighted and chasing the algorithm takes up a lot of our time.

Maybe blurred images will give the AI scrapers a little indigestion.

Maybe it's an angsty teenage punk yelling at his parents, then sitting down and eating the meal prepared for him.

Maybe it's the first step toward artistic and economic freedom.

We don't know what will come. This post is an experiment, a call in the night hoping for an answer.

New (to us 😅) sticker machine dropped! We bought this thang months ago and it was a whole saga that involved a jammed lock, a drill, designing face plates and printing and all kinds of boring stuff. But it’s ✨finally✨ up and running, and has our inner kid selves squealing with simple joy.
Right now, it’s full of our old sticker stock, and lil handmade lino prints on fabric swatches that you can make into patches or use as bookmarks or in any number of creative ways! But who even knows what else we’ll be able to jam into this baby in the future!
And really, do keep your eyes out, because you just might catch it popping up around town very soon 👀

This Pan’s Labyrinth Pale Man was on my spooky season flash sheet, but I modified it to fit in between a bunch of other tattoos (not mine,) and added a fairy per James’s request. I am SO stoked I got to do this one. Pale Man has been on my wannado list since I was a baby tattooer. And even more stoked we added color, ugh that bloody hand is 🤌

A little bartering amongst friends. We’re leisurely chipping away at this deepsea jellyfishlady anemone flower mashup sleeve, and mostly just hanging out in the process 🤣 It may be slowwww going, but I am beyond happy every time I get to further it, and it’s nice to not feel constrained by time or money or literally anything else because Lauren pretty much lets me do anything I want 🌝
