Hi everyone! I am very sad to announce that I am officially resigning from the henna tattoo business. It has been such a fun last few years and I will definitely miss seeing all of your smiling faces! I will continue participating in only one event each year - The Batty Battleship Halloween Bash at the USS NORTH CAROLINA Battleship.

The good news is that my jewelry business is continuing to grow and expand! I have been so thankful for all of your support for my henna business & I would absolutely love if you would continue to follow me as my business continues to grow and change! One of my mom's friends - known as "the spoon guy" - makes absolutely amazing sculptures from silverware! You can see more of Gary Hovey's pieces at Hoveyware Sculptures.

You may be a gourmet cook, but if you invite sculptor Gary Hovey to dinner, don’t expect him to ooh and ahh over the food you’ve prepared. He’s more likely to be interested in the way the table is set, because Hovey creates his fantastic sculptures from forks, knives, and spoons!

The Ohio artist, who is shown here with Gorilla Family, will join dozens of other amazing professionals who repurpose materials to create beautiful work for the Déjà Vu Art and Fine Craft Show. Held on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Commons in downtown Columbus, Indiana, the event is free and open to the public.

My current creative adventure has involved re-purposing weather worn pieces of wood. I fell in love with the the decorative quotes I kept seeing on Pinterest and finally decided to make my own version. The beach-worn wood gives the signs a more earthy, rustic feel and I chose copper chain so that it would contrast nicely against the washed out paint. You can find my wooden signs at The Mermaid's Purse in Surf City, NC.

It's been a busy summer - getting married and all ♥ - but I've mixed up a fresh batch of henna and I'm back in business! Starting tomorrow, I will be taking appointments at The Mermaid's Purse on Fridays & Saturdays until the end of the season.
