We are happy to announce that our Executive Director, Leslie Smiley, has been selected to the Rural Health Transformation Region 5 Advisory Council. Mrs. Smiley will work with 20 other members to help shape and guide North Carolina's Rural Health Transformation grant over the next 5 years and specifically how these funds can help improve the lives of all who live and work in Southeastern NC.
Trillium Health Resources Welcomes NC ROOTS Region 2 and 5 Advisory Boards
We're proud to welcome the newly appointed Advisory Board members for NC ROOTS Region 2 and Region 5. We received over 170 Advisory Board applications across both regions, a response that speaks to how invested and eager our communities are to play a role in rural health transformation.
After a competitive selection process, we selected 21 individuals in each region to serve on their local Advisory Board as representatives of the communities they live and work in. Each board brings together a cross-sector group of public health, healthcare and behavioral health leaders, frontline providers, community and faith-based organizations, individuals with lived experience, and Tribal and regional leaders, including Lumbee Tribal Government appointees for Region 5. Together, they bring the mix of professional and lived experience that will guide transformation efforts in our regions.

What the Advisory Boards Will Do
As they step into their roles, our Advisory Board members will serve as the governing body for each region and as a bridge to the broader community. They'll help shape our priorities, guide the direction of our Hub Action Plans, create opportunities for community engagement, and hold us accountable to the community we serve. Both boards have already begun meeting, and we'll share updates on their work as it progresses.
