Pot Roast is going to college! 🎓

While most of our horses head to Lander, Wyoming, for the winter, Pot Roast has different plans this year! He’s heading to Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, where he’ll become a Battlin’ Bear! 🐻

He will be joining their equine studies program, where students will ride him as part of their hunter/jumper coursework, and he’ll also be part of the school’s Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) team.

Especially excited about this opportunity are JHTR Instructor Olivia, who’s currently a student there, and our Program Director, Samantha, who is a Rocky alum.

Thank you, Rocky, for taking care of our favorite guy this winter! We know you’ll love him as much as we do (and catch us road tripping to an IHSA show to see him strut his stuff!).

A few of our favorite shots from Saturday’s JHTR Community Horse Show! 🏆

The Community Horse Show is such an exciting day for our participants each year. It’s a chance to show off what they’ve been working on, have their family and friends cheer them on, and celebrate everything they’ve accomplished throughout the season.

We are so grateful to everyone who came out to cheer on our riders and make the day feel special, and to all of the volunteers, staff, and families who helped make the show happen.

Last but not least, thank you to Libby Hillman for volunteering as our horse show judge for the day! Libby is a former JHTR instructor and it was so fun to have her back in the arena with us.

We had a blast watching everyone ride and are already looking forward to next year!

Photos compliments of our rockstar volunteer, Laura Wigglesworth Shervin.

Happy Labor Day from JHTR! 🐴

Today, we are reminded how grateful we are for all of the people whose work keeps JHTR running every day. Our equine team, instructors, and administrative staff, along with our incredible volunteers and Board of Directors, all play a part in making our programs possible.

We’re lucky to have such a hardworking team behind JHTR, both in and out of the arena. 💙

We hope you’re enjoying the long weekend, soaking up these last few weeks of summer in Jackson Hole, and we’ll see you back in the arena on September 14th!
