🌟 GOLD STANDARD SPOTLIGHT 🌟

The Gold Standard Student Award officially launches in September, but we couldn’t wait to recognize two Wilton students who have already been setting the GOLD STANDARD through their leadership and service this summer.

💙💛 Weston Stranberg and Connor Thornton, sophomores at Wilton High School, have volunteered at multiple Junior High lifting sessions over the past several months. Both have been exceptional role models for our younger students, sharing their knowledge, providing encouragement, and leading by example.

Their positive attitudes and willingness to give their time have made a real impact on students in our community.

🏆 WESTON STRANBERG
Parents: Matt & Angie Stranberg
Activities: Football, Baseball, & Wrestling

What Weston enjoyed most:
Watching the younger students improve their lifting form over time and seeing them push themselves to lift more weight and accomplish things they couldn’t do when they first started the program.

🏆 CONNOR THORNTON
Parents: Eric & Emily Thornton
Activities: Football, Basketball & Track & Field

What Connor enjoyed most:
Seeing every athlete progress and improve each week—whether it was in strength, technique, or attitude.

Weston and Connor are great examples of what the Gold Standard is all about: leadership, effort, character, and making a positive impact on others.

👏 Thank you, Weston and Connor, for investing your time in our younger students and helping make our community stronger.

We also want to thank Fire Nutrition in Durant for generously providing gift cards to recognize these two outstanding young leaders!

💙💛 Strong students. Strong community. DAM STRONG.

🏆 INTRODUCING THE GOLD STANDARD STUDENT AWARD! 🏆

We’re excited to announce that starting this September, the Wilton Beaver Wellness Foundation will partner with the Wilton Community School District to launch the Gold Standard Student Award!

Each month, four students will be recognized for embodying the GOLD STANDARD in wellness excellence through:

⭐ Balance
⭐ Effort
⭐ Accountability
⭐ Strength
⭐ Teamwork

Each Gold Standard student will receive a special recognition shirt and gift card celebrating their commitment and efforts. We’ll also highlight our recipients throughout the year with our Gold Standard Student Spotlight!

💙💛 COMMUNITY SUPPORT MAKES THIS POSSIBLE

Programs like this don’t happen without businesses, families, and community members willing to invest in our students.

A huge thank you to Journey Nutrition, which has graciously committed to donating four gift cards every month to help recognize our Gold Standard students!

We also want to thank our DAM STRONG SPONSORS, whose contributions are helping provide the recognition shirts:

• Hoekstra Masonry
• Jared Bennett – American Family
• Mark & Peggy Weih
• Bret & Traci Chinander
• Gene Chinander Memorial
• Arty’s
• Wilton Cafe / Tee Time Tavern
• Josh Cummings – Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors
• Wilton Hometown Market
• Triple B Construction

We’re also grateful to several businesses that have donated gift cards, apparel, and other items that will help us recognize students throughout the school year:

🎁 Fire Nutrition – Durant — Gift cards
👕 Power Lift — Shirts & stickers
🥤 Scooter’s Coffee – Muscatine — Gift cards & drink coupons
🏓 Musco — Pickleball racquets, golf balls & other items

THERE’S STILL TIME TO GET INVOLVED!

Businesses and community members can support the Gold Standard Student Award through one of our DAM STRONG sponsorship levels or by donating branded items such as T-shirts, hats, water bottles, gift cards, or other small swag items.

Every contribution gives us another opportunity to recognize, encourage, and celebrate Wilton students who are setting the GOLD STANDARD.

We can’t wait to see this program take off this fall and celebrate the students who are leading by example in our schools and community!

💙💛 STRONG MINDS. STRONG BODIES. STRONG COMMUNITY.

WILTON STRENGTH. BEAVER POWER. 🦫💪

We recently added some new signage to the weight room, but these words are about a lot more than what happens inside these four walls.

Wilton Strength isn’t just about how much weight you can lift. It’s about showing up, putting in the work, being disciplined, supporting the person next to you, and continuing to push forward when things get hard.

Beaver Power is the pride, toughness, and togetherness that comes from being part of Wilton. It’s understanding that we are stronger when we work together and hold each other to a higher standard.

These are more than slogans on a wall. They are a mindset we want our students to carry into the classroom, onto the field or court, into their careers, their families, and their communities.

Someday the weights will get put down and the uniforms will get hung up. Our hope is that the lessons learned here stay with them.

Work hard. Be tough. Lift others up. Take pride in where you come from.

That’s Wilton Strength. That’s Beaver Power. 🦫

This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our community and specifically Parents for Youth!

Blue Collar. Gold Standard.

The growth we’ve seen in our Junior High Summer Lifting Program has been incredible.

We had 28 student-athletes in attendance, and while it’s great to see that many kids showing up, what’s even more impressive is how much they’ve grown since the beginning of the summer.

Their understanding of each movement, the quality of their technique, and the effort they bring every day have all taken huge steps forward. They show up with purpose, put in the work, and continue to challenge themselves to get better.

One of the best parts has been watching confidence grow. Kids who were hesitant on day one are now attacking workouts, encouraging their teammates, and believing in what they’re capable of. The support, accountability, and togetherness this group has developed has been just as rewarding as the physical progress.

We’re incredibly proud of this group and grateful to everyone who has helped make this program possible. The future is bright when young people are willing to work hard, encourage one another, and keep showing up.

Progress isn’t always measured by the weight on the bar—it’s measured by the confidence built, the friendships formed, and the habits that will last a lifetime.

Thank you all for your patience and, more importantly, for supporting the Wilton Beaver Wellness Foundation. We can’t wait to see everyone sporting their new gear!
