Keratosis pilaris (KP) or follicular keratosis.
Here is the definition of KP: A condition that causes rough patches and small, acne-like bumps on the skin.
This condition develops when the skin produces too much of a protein called keratin, which can block hair follicles and cause bumps to develop.
The bumps are usually on the arms, thighs, cheeks, and buttocks. They’re white, sometimes red, and typically don’t hurt or itch.
The condition isn’t often serious and usually disappears by age 30. Medicated creams may help skin appearance.
Example: You may have KP on the back of your upper arms and/or the back of your thighs or other spots. KP can develop from sweating and not showering immediately after exercise. This happens time after time maybe a build up of KP. There are a few ways that can treat this on the natural side rather than medications. Take a clean white wash cloth wet it with warm water and a mild soap or gentle scrub and wash the area daily as in exfoliating the skin. Be gentle please. I do not like luffa body scrubs because they are difficult to sanitize & maybe a bit rough. The other way is have some laser treatments, get rid of the hair, wink, wink and get rid of the KP, like acne the laser light it eliminates the bacteria.
