🤰🏽 Long post, but worth the read/watch! 🤰🏼

The reason midwifery will never be replaced by AI.

Birth is a dynamic, constantly adapting process between a mother and her baby. We can measure the cervix, estimate baby’s size, assess the pelvis, monitor contractions, but none of those measurements can fully predict how labor will unfold.
A laboring woman’s body is changing in real time. Hormones shift, the pelvis becomes more mobile, babies rotate, flex, descend, and respond to maternal movement and positioning. Sometimes a baby that “shouldn’t fit” on paper is born beautifully because both the mother and baby adapted together throughout labor.
One of my favorite parts of being a Certified Nurse Midwife is labor management. It’s this constant dance between using medical knowledge and technology wisely while also respecting the physiologic process of birth. Supporting movement, and hormones, to promote a good contraction pattern and optimal fetal positioning.
Medical technology can tell us a lot. But it still cannot replace the incredible physiologic intelligence of a laboring body.

Tell us what you think!👇🏼👇🏻👇🏾

Think of it like a mix between a support group, childbirth class, and a prenatal appointment. You get one on one time with your provider, but the majority of that 90 minutes is spent discussing pregnancy and other relevant topics with your provider and the rest of the group. You can expect a lot of the same education and preparation you would get in a childbirth course while also receiving everything traditional prenatal care has to offer including your ultrasounds, labs, routine checks, etc.

Be honest, would you take advantage if Amani Women's Health started offering group prenatal care?

Did any of these responses surprise you? 🚩

Not having a period for a long time before menopause, unless there’s another explanation like pregnancy, breastfeeding, or certain birth control methods, is NOT usually considered a good thing. In some women, it can mean the uterine lining is building up too much over time, which can increase the risk of endometrial cancer.

Changes in breast skin texture, especially skin that starts to look like an orange peel, are also important warning signs. Ni**le discharge in someone who is not breastfeeding should always be evaluated too.

And when it comes to Pap smears, “normal” is the goal. Results like ASCUS, LSIL, and HSIL are abnormal findings that usually need follow-up, not something to ignore.
