The Journey Home

The Journey Home At The Journey Home, we believe every veteran deserves a place to call home. Join us in making a difference!! journeyhomevets.org/donate Why we do what we do!!
(1)

With compassion and dedication, we support those who served, helping them rebuild their lives. Welcome to The Journey Home!! With your continued support we are on a mission to prevent/end Veteran homelessness; to connect Veterans to local, regional, and national communities, so that together we may provide stability, support, and interventions, for all Veterans, to ensure they feel empowered to at

tain housing and keep their “Independence”. We want to ensure every Veteran has a place to call HOME!! They deserve at least this much from us, if not more!! At this moment there are an estimated:
-37K+ Veterans that are homeless
-1.4 million are at-risk of becoming homeless

To us, this is unacceptable!! We believe that our Veterans have been through enough, they have put their lives on the line and have answered our nations call to defend the Freedoms in which we love. At The Journey Home we want to repay our Service Men and Woman for their sacrifice, no matter what that looks like. “No Veteran left behind!!” is our motto and we will do everything we can to ensure all Veterans can hold their heads up high and be proud members of our communities. How we accomplish the mission!! Since opening our doors in 2014, we have helped 300+ Veterans, across the Untied States, overcome chronic homelessness. In addition to that and through our Outreach programs we have been able to help countless more, from all walks of life, receive the necessary support they need to remain in their homes. Through the below programs/services we provide we are able to accomplish our objectives. Outreach (All Veterans) – Fully funded by Donors
- HARM Reduction
- Disaster Relief

Transitional Facilities (Male Veterans Only) – Funded by Donors and VA Contract
o 15 Bed Facility

Transportation - Funded by Donors
- Fleet of 3 Vehicles
- We provide transportation to and from Medical/Dental Appointments, VA appointments, grocery pickup and other locations, as needed by the Veterans. o Staffed by our Veterans
TJH Staff - Funded by Donors and VA Contract
o 60% of our Staff are Veterans and most are previous residents of the Facility

Your experience can help a Veteran find home.

The Journey Home is seeking volunteer board members who are ready to bring their skills, leadership, and community connections to a mission that matters.

We are looking for people who can help guide the mission, raise awareness, provide financial oversight, build partnerships, support housing solutions, and champion Veterans in our community.

This may be a good fit if you have experience in marketing, accounting, finance, fundraising, housing, real estate, healthcare, behavioral health, legal, HR, operations, Veteran services, nonprofit leadership, or community partnerships.

This is a volunteer board role, but the impact is real.

If you are interested in helping Veterans move toward housing, stability, and independence, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Day one out of the service.
You wake up... and no one needs you anywhere.
The uniform is off. The mission is over. The brothers and sisters you served with are scattered.
For a moment, the silence feels like freedom.
But for so many veterans, that freedom quickly turns heavy.

The days start blending together. The purpose that once drove you disappears. The structure that kept you steady is gone. And the quiet becomes deafening.
You’re not alone if this hits home.
Too many of our veterans know this exact ache, that hollow feeling when the world moves on and you’re left wondering…
Now what?

At The Journey Home, we exist to close that painful gap.
We provide assistance to transitional and permanent supportive housing right here in East Central Indiana, but more than beds, we offer belonging. Structure that rebuilds confidence. Purpose that reignites drive. And a community that truly has your back.
From the very first day you walk through our doors, you’re reminded:
You are still needed. You still matter. Your next chapter is just beginning.
This work is personal to us. Every veteran we help is someone’s son, daughter, spouse, parent, or neighbor. Every life stabilized is a family made whole again.
If you’re a veteran reading this and you’re struggling, please know there is hope, and there is help.
If you’re someone who wants to make a real difference, your support changes lives.
💙 This is the gap we exist to close.

Coming home should be the easy part.
For too many veterans, it's the hardest.

After the deployment ends, the real battle often begins rebuilding life without the structure, mission, and brotherhood that defined their service.

That’s why The Journey Home exists.

We’re here for the hard part: providing transitional and permanent supportive housing, transportation, and wraparound support so veterans and their families don’t have to face the silence alone.

Share this so the next veteran knows this support exists.
