Due to rising cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in our community, we are updating our visitation policy to protect our most vulnerable patients. Starting Friday, Nov. 7 at 8:00 PM, only the two banded Care Partners designated for each NICU patient will be allowed to visit. Until then, all visitors must wear a mask at all times while in the NICU. We sincerely appreciate your support in keeping our babies safe. Learn more at valleyhealthlink.com/nicu.

At Valley Health, our team of neonatologists, nurse practitioners, staff nurses, and respiratory and occupational therapists use the latest in technological advances to care for even the littlest patients in Virginia and West Virginia.

Here are some of our favorite photos from the 2025 Wi******er Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) reunion, held Sunday, October 12, at West Oaks Farm Market. 🥰

Along with their families, our NICU graduates enjoyed face painting, balloon creations, a petting zoo, farm fun, crafts and of course, the chance to catch up with their doctors and caregivers. In total, nearly 400 individuals participated. This reunion is the highlight of the year for many families, but especially for our NICU caregivers.

Thank you to all who helped make the 2025 NICU reunion a success!

Valley Health hosted another successful annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) reunion on Sunday, October 27, at West Oaks Farm Market. Along with their families, NICU graduates enjoyed face painting, farm fun, crafts and of course, the chance to catch up with their doctors and caregivers. In total, nearly 800 individuals participated.

This reunion is the highlight of the year for many families, but especially for NICU caregivers. “Nothing fills our hearts more than seeing the babies we are privileged to care for thriving and having fun!” shared one such Valley Health employee.

More photos from yesterday's unveiling! Portraits like these serve as daily inspiration to neonatal caregivers as well as motivational reminders to current families that while this time can feel overwhelming, babies grow up to live happy and full lives.

Thank you to participating graduate families for helping spread comfort and hope to current families inside the NICU. ❤️

Amanda, a twin NICU graduate mom, has helped bring over 130 cuddle bear books and bear sets to our NICU over the past two years as a PaperPie (formerly Usborne Books and More) representative. Book sets are a helpful tool to encourage caregiver bonding with newborns and a life-long love of reading from the very start. Amanda's goal is to be able to provide every family that is admitted to the NICU in the next year with a book and a bear. You can help make this possible!

Amanda will be holding a raffle at the 2023 NICU reunion, proceeds benefiting our NICU by providing Cuddle Bear Books and Bear sets. Items raffled will be boxes of greeting cards, smart lab toys, and books. Raffle tickets will cost $5 per ticket or $20 for 5. You can also support this effort by purchasing anything through this link: https://a12473.paperpie.com/2528583
(50% of the total amount purchased will be returned to the NICU in the form of Cuddle Bear Books & Bear sets).
