We’ve all heard about exfoliation and how it’s good for our skin but only if it's done correctly.

Exfoliation helps to keep our skin active, smooth and youthful. With it being September, pumpkin is in the AIR already; so let’s talk about Enzymatic Exfoliation!
 
• Enzymatic Exfoliation: Considered the “Pac Man” in skincare.  Most gentle form of exfoliation that uses fruit enzymes to digest dead skin cells on the outer layer of the Stratum Corneum.
 
• There are many different fruit enzymes, but the most common are Bromelain and Papain which are derived from pineapple and papaya. Pumpkin and Protease Enzymes are considered stronger forms of exfoliation. Enzymes eat away the dead skin cells sitting on the surface of our skin, helping to smooth and brighten any complexion.

😷 6 Tips For Maskne 😷

🖤1. Double Cleanse your skin twice a day. Our favorites are GlyMed Plus Mega-Purifying Cleanser & GlyMed Plus Vitamin C Cleanser.
🖤2. Choose a lightweight cotton or silk mask to help prevent friction. Be sure to clean or replace your mask every day.

Medically know as “Acne Mechanica”, MASKNE has become a real struggle. If you’re asking why exactly your skin is breaking out, it’s a series of breakouts that are occurring along the lower area of our face, where a face mask is always worn. These breakouts form after repetitive friction, pressure and heat that is trapped against the skin for a long period of time, creating physical trauma.

Men's and women’s skin is very different. Even the composition of men’s skin is different from women’s skin. Men’s skin is 25% thicker, even the texture is thicker and tougher than women’s skin. Men have significantly higher amounts of the androgen hormone which is what causes oiliness in the skin. This causes larger pore size as well as longer lasting acne in post pubescent males.

Sadly enough for women, men also have much thicker collagen and elastin fibers in their skin, regardless of age the collagen density is much higher. The breakdown of collagen happens much slower in men’s skin therefore slowing the aging process significantly. It has been said that women’s skin is about 15 years older than the skin of a man that is the same age. However, men are not as good at applying sunscreen so that tends to help make up the difference in skin age. It is important that when I give treatments and recommend home care regimens for men I think about the best ways to help them get the best care possible.
These day’s men are starting to care more and more about their skin.
