I’m so excited to finally share this with you 🩷
Introducing my Starting Solids With Confidence Guide—created from the questions I get asked every single day by parents just like you.
-When do I start?
-What foods do I offer first?
-How do I know my baby is ready?
-What if I’m nervous about choking?
-How do I balance solids with breastmilk or bottles?

Starting solids can feel like a big, overwhelming transition—but it doesn’t have to be.
This guide walks you through it all in a clear, practical, and supportive way so you can feel confident (and even excited) about this next stage.

You can download it from my website and go through it at your own pace—coming back to it whenever you need.

If you’re entering the 6+ month stage, or know someone who is, this is for you 🤍

Graduated today 💕

This sweet family started their journey with me before baby was even born, we met prenatally to map out their breastfeeding goals and create a plan for success. And I’m so glad we did… because their path wasn’t an easy one.

Baby arrived with oral ties and couldn’t latch to the breast. Those early days looked like pumping, bottle feeding, navigating an oversupply, and supporting baby through bodywork to release so much built-up tension.

And then came the turning point—release, healing, learning, practicing… and slowly, beautifully, baby learned how to breastfeed.

Today, this baby is thriving at the breast, growing so well, and mom is heading back to work feeling confident with a solid pumping plan to protect her supply.

This is why I do what I do. It’s not always linear, but with the right support, guidance, and persistence… it can come together.

So incredibly proud of you both 🩷 Beautiful mama, beautiful baby.

There’s something so special about moments like this 🤍
6.3 oz transferred… and he didn’t even wake up.
Moved from mom’s arms to the scale, fast asleep, completely content. This is what efficient, comfortable feeding can look like.

It’s been a while since I’ve shown up here. This winter was a hard one—full of loss, grief, and a lot of quiet behind the scenes. We said goodbye to our beloved dog and a dear family member, and it’s taken time to process, to heal, and to just be.

But in the middle of all of that, this work continues to remind me why I do what I do.
Peaceful babies.
Confident parents.
Moments where everything just clicks.

If you’re in a season that feels heavy right now, I see you. And if you’re in the thick of feeding struggles, I’m here to help you get to moments like this. 🩷

Today is IBCLC Day, and I’m feeling especially grateful for the work I get to do every single day. ♥️

This sweet little one holds such a special place in my heart. When we first started working together, breastfeeding was challenging and she wasn’t gaining weight as expected. Her mom began supplementing with bottles while we worked to figure out the “why.” Together we uncovered oral ties that were impacting feeding, and after thoughtful support, a release, and continued feeding work… look at her now. Thriving and exclusively breastfeeding. 🎉🎉

Mom’s persistence, dedication, and trust in the process made all the difference. Watching dyads grow in confidence and seeing babies flourish is the greatest privilege. 🥹

Being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant means walking alongside families through vulnerable moments, problem solving together, celebrating victories big and small, and witnessing the incredible bond between parent and baby.

I truly love what I do and feel so honored that families trust me with such an important part of their journey. Thank you to every family who has invited me into their story. 💛

✨ Client Graduation Day ✨

Today I graduated one of my very precious families, and my heart is full.

This mama first came to me feeling frustrated and discouraged after working with multiple providers—still without clear answers or the support she truly needed. After a thorough assessment, we identified significant oral ties and body tension that were impacting baby’s latch and contributing to symptoms that looked like reflux, but were actually aerophagia (air swallowing).

With the right plan in place—bodywork, a frenotomy, and ongoing, hands-on support—this sweet baby has absolutely thrived. He is now exclusively breastfeeding comfortably and efficiently, reflux symptoms have dramatically improved, and most importantly… he is HAPPY.

Watching parents feel confident, relieved, and overjoyed is one of the greatest privileges of this work. While it’s always a little bittersweet to say goodbye, seeing families leave empowered and thriving is exactly why I do what I do.

💛 If you’re feeling stuck, unheard, or unsure why feeding feels so hard—know that support and answers are possible. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

🌟 Why Babies “Pull In” With Their Cheeks While Feeding 🌟

If you notice your baby’s cheeks dimpling inward while feeding — especially paired with clicking — here’s what it often means 👇💡

Cheek Dimpling = Baby Working Too Hard

When a baby has oral tension or oral ties (like tongue, lip, or buccal ties), their latch isn’t as deep or secure. Because of that, they try to compensate by:
✨ Pulling in their cheeks to generate more suction
✨ Using facial muscles instead of tongue + jaw coordination
✨ Working harder to stay latched and milk-transfer efficiently

This is not a sign of a lazy baby — it’s a sign of a baby who is adapting to restricted oral mobility.

👂 Why You Hear Clicking During Feeding

Clicking happens when the seal at the breast or bottle breaks repeatedly. With oral ties or tension, babies may:
🔹 Struggle to elevate or extend the tongue
🔹 Lose suction mid-swallow
🔹 Pull their tongue back to protect their airway
🔹 Try to keep up with flow but can’t maintain a tight seal

Every “click” = a moment of lost suction.

You may see:
• Milk leaking
• More air intake (gassiness)
• Frequent unlatching or tight, tucked lips to hold on better
• Short or long, tiring feeds
• Frustration at the breast or bottle

💛 The Good News

With the right support — oral function exam, bodywork, lactation care, and if appropriate, release of oral ties — babies can:
✔️ Improve suction
✔️ Reduce cheek dimpling
✔️ Stop clicking
✔️ Feed more comfortably and efficiently
✔️ Transfer milk better and gain weight more easily

🎥 In this video:

You’ll see a great example of cheek “pulling in” and clicking caused by oral dysfunction. This is the baby working overtime to compensate for ties and tension.

If your baby is doing this too…

You are not doing anything wrong — and you don’t need to struggle through feeding. Support is available. 💕

👅 “He doesn’t have a tongue tie… I didn’t see or feel anything.”

I hear this all the time. And here’s the truth 👇
Posterior tongue ties CANNOT be reliably seen or felt in a quick exam. They’re often hidden under the mucosa and don’t present with that “classic” heart-shaped tongue you can spot at a glance.

To identify a posterior tie, you need to assess:
🔍 Tongue function (can baby lift tongue- not just the tip but also the mid/posterior aspect, can baby extend tongue, cup well/sustain cup with suck and lateralize?)
🔍 Tongue range of motion (can the tongue move freely or does it compensate?)
🔍 Oral tension patterns and feeding biomechanics

These ties are tricky and subtle, and SO often missed—even by well-meaning providers, including lactation consultants, who haven’t had advanced training in oral function and tethered oral tissues.

➡️Some common symptoms of posterior tongue ties:
* Shallow or painful latch
* Clicking or slipping off the breast/bottle
* Gassiness, reflux symptoms, or frequent spit-up
* Long feeds that don’t feel efficient
* Poor weight gain or falling asleep mid-feed/baby easily fatigued

😮 More subtle signs might include:
* “Good” weight gain but nursing feels exhausting or frustrating
* Swallowing air → frequent hiccups or bloating
* Lipstick-shaped ni***es or blistering after feeds
* Baby always seems tense or uncomfortable at rest
* Low milk supply despite frequent feeds or pumping

If you’ve been told everything looks “fine” but feeding doesn’t feel fine, trust your gut. A deeper, functional assessment may be exactly what you need. 💛

✨This is what I do. If you need support, I’m here to help. You and your baby deserve answers.

Motherhood is hard at every stage—just in different ways. 💛

I remember the sleepless nights, the cluster feeds, the constant questions about pumping, latch, growth, and milk supply. Those newborn days felt so all-consuming.

Now, I’m in the pre-teen and teen years—where the worries are deeper, the conversations are heavier, and I sometimes miss the simplicity (and snuggles) of those early days.

Every stage of motherhood demands something new from us. And while the challenges evolve, one thing that always matters is our mental health. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Here are a few gentle reminders for all seasons of motherhood:

🧘‍♀️ Make space to breathe—even if it’s 3 minutes alone in your car.
💬 Talk about the hard stuff—with a friend, a therapist, or your partner.
🌿 Lower the bar—your kids need a present, grounded you, not a perfect one.
🧘‍♀️ Move your body- a walk, a stretch, or dancing in the kitchen can shift your whole mood.
📵 Put down the phone—comparison steals the joy of your real moments.

🤍 Ask for help—it’s not weakness, it’s wisdom.

Whether you’re soothing a colicky newborn or guiding a hormonal teenager, just know: you are doing enough. And you are not alone.

Sending love to every mom—no matter what season you’re in. 💐
