OIL CLEANSERS: USE THEM. DON'T WEAR THEM.

One skincare trend we'll never get behind?

Leaving oil sitting on the skin all day. Before the internet comes for us, hear us out.

Oil cleansers can be fantastic when used correctly. In fact, we love them. Products like SupaSlick Pre-Cleanse are one of the best ways to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, excess oil, and the buildup that accumulates on your skin throughout the day.

But here's the key:
Oil cleansers are designed to REMOVE. Not remain.
Think of them as the first step in your cleansing routine. They loosen what doesn't belong on your skin so it can be washed away with your cleanser.

Why does this matter?
Because throughout the day your skin collects:
• Sunscreen
• Makeup
• Sweat
• Dead skin cells
• Pollution
• Environmental debris

When oils are left sitting on the skin, they can trap these materials against the surface. For some people, this may contribute to congestion, blackheads, milia, breakouts, and a dull complexion.

And let's not forget what many of us learned the hard way in the baby oil tanning era...

Oil and sun are not a skincare strategy.
Excess UV exposure can contribute to pigmentation, melasma flare-ups, collagen breakdown, premature aging, and long-term skin damage.

The goal isn't to coat your skin in oil. The goal is healthy skin function.

Social media is great for discovering ideas. It is not a substitute for personalized skincare advice. The reality is that your skin has a history, a biology, and a set of needs that no viral trend can fully understand.
That's why we spend our days in the treatment room, not chasing trends.

Because healthy skin isn't built on what's popular.
It's built on what works for your skin.

✨ Use oil cleansers. ✨ Wash them away. ✨ Let your skin breathe.

Your skin isn't a trend. It's a relationship.

I've had the privilege of working with some of the most recognized faces in the world.

But the truth?

Those aren't the moments I carry home with me.

What stays with me are the conversations in the treatment room.

The client who finally feels comfortable leaving the house without makeup.

The woman navigating menopause who thought she'd never recognize her skin again.

The cancer survivor learning to feel at home in their body.

The teenager whose confidence begins to return as their acne improves.

The mother who spends so much time caring for everyone else that she has forgotten how to care for herself.

Those are the moments that matter.

While I am incredibly grateful for the media features, fashion shows, television appearances, and opportunities my career has provided, they are not what fuels me.

What fuels me is connection.

It is listening.

It is educating.

It is helping someone understand what their skin is trying to communicate.

It is celebrating your milestones, your victories, and the confidence that comes from feeling comfortable in your own skin.

The beauty industry can sometimes feel loud. There are endless trends, filters, promises, and distractions competing for attention.

Here, you will find something different.

No manufactured perfection.

No pressure to become someone else.

No smoke and mirrors.

Just honest conversations, thoughtful care, clinical expertise, and a genuine commitment to helping you become the healthiest version of yourself.

Because at the end of the day, your skin is never just skin.

And you are never just another appointment on the schedule.

You are the reason we do this work.

AN ELEPHANT NEVER FORGETS. NEITHER DOES YOUR SKIN.

The choices you make today can become the skin you meet years from now.

Your skin is a little like an elephant... it never forgets.

The sunburn from your teenage years. The tanning bed sessions before vacation. The "just this once" moments.

Your skin remembers.

That’s why sun damage often doesn’t show up immediately. Years later, it can surface as pigmentation, loss of elasticity, rough texture, broken capillaries, accelerated aging, and sometimes changes that run much deeper beneath the surface.

New research is adding to what we’ve long known: even when skin appears normal on the outside, damage can be quietly accumulating underneath.

As a melanoma survivor, I look at skin differently.

A tan isn't skin becoming healthier. A tan is skin responding and trying to protect itself.

The good news? Your skin also remembers the care you give it.

SPF. Skin checks. Protective habits. Consistency.

Your future skin is being written by the choices you make today.

→ Protect it like it belongs to someone you love.

Real skin has texture.
Real skin reflects life, expression, healing, hormones, stress, laughter, late nights, growth, and everything that makes you uniquely you.

Somewhere along the way, the beauty industry convinced people that flawless meant poreless, filtered, frozen, and perfectly edited.
We disagree.

At Kerry Spindler Bespoke Aesthetics Spa, we are not here to erase individuality or make every face look the same.

Our philosophy is rooted in skin health first: strengthening the skin barrier, improving texture, supporting collagen, restoring balance, and helping skin function at its highest level — while still allowing you to look like yourself.

Because the goal was never social medias version of perfection. The goal is confidence. Vitality. Healthy skin that still looks alive, expressive, and real.

We don’t want to change you.

We want to refine, support, and elevate the best version of you.

Refined. Never erased.

(This is what healthy skin looks like. Freckles, texture, moles, expression, individuality — skin that still looks beautifully human.)

I’ve spent most of my life studying skin, health, beauty, confidence, and the emotional connection people have with the reflection staring back at them.

From advanced education, two master’s degrees, clinical training in oncology aesthetics, paramedical esthetics, corneotherapy, permanent makeup, cosmetic chemistry exposure, national media work, New York fashion and celebrity beauty spaces, developing skincare internationally, and building a skincare practice in Boston rooted in trust instead of trends… this industry has truly been my life’s work.

And I will always be an honest voice willing to call bu****it when necessary.

Maybe because I’m a melanoma survivor myself, I take skin health a little more seriously than the average person on social media trying to sell an affiliate link.

So I need to say something honestly:

The skincare industry is becoming dangerously disconnected from reality.

There is so much noise right now.
Too much stimulation. Too many trends. Too many people treating skin like a social media experiment instead of a living organ.

Not every LED mask is safe.
Not every trending treatment is appropriate.
And not every viral recommendation understands inflammation, heat, pigmentation pathways, or long-term barrier health.

Unfortunately, some inexpensive at-home devices are creating more inflammation than improvement — especially for people struggling with melasma, chronic sensitivity, acne scarring, and reactive skin conditions.

Skin does not care what is trending.
Skin responds to biology.

That is why real expertise matters.

At kerryspindler.com, we do not chase hype. We do not push fear. And we do not believe in overcorrecting people into skin damage.

We believe in honesty.
We believe in education.
We believe in protecting the integrity of the skin long term.

Most importantly, we believe skincare is part of a journey — not a performance.

Healthy skin should never come at the expense of your trust.

Apps like Yuka are not built to evaluate your skin.

You scanned it. It scored well. So why isn’t your skin improving?

Because the Yuka app was built around FOOD INGREDIENTS —not the science or biology behind your skin, or the complexity of cosmetic chemistry.

If you’re using it to determine what’s “safe” for your skin, you’re likely missing critical context.

Skincare doesn’t function in isolated ingredients. It works in systems:

* Concentration
* Formulation
* Delivery

and MOST importantly, your skin’s current condition
An ingredient labeled “clean” can still compromise your barrier.

An ingredient flagged as “questionable” can be clinically beneficial when used correctly.

That’s the difference between reading a label… and understanding skin.

Your skin isn’t responding to a score.

It’s responding to chemistry, environment, hormones, and how everything is layered together.
This is where expertise matters.

Because skin doesn’t misbehave. It communicates.

→ Real skin health isn’t determined by an app—it’s built through informed, individualized care.

Allergy season isn’t just a sinus issue—it shows up on your skin too.

If your skin suddenly feels reactive, dull, or “off” this time of year, it’s not random. It’s environmental.

Pollen, pollution, and airborne irritants don’t just sit on the surface—they trigger inflammation, weaken your skin barrier, and quietly disrupt how your skin functions day to day.

Here’s what that can look like: • Increased sensitivity or redness
• Breakouts that don’t follow your usual pattern
• Dryness that your moisturizer isn’t fixing
• Flare-ups of conditions like eczema, rosacea, or dermatitis
• Skin that looks tired, uneven, or harder to “treat”

When your skin is constantly defending itself from what’s in the air, it stops prioritizing repair. That’s when things spiral.

This is the season where less stimulation and more support matters.

Think:

– Barrier repair over aggressive treatments
– Anti-inflammatory ingredients over trends
– Consistency over constantly switching products

Your skin isn’t being difficult—it’s communicating.

And right now, it’s asking for protection.

→ If your skin feels different this season, it’s time to adjust your approach—not push harder.

Your skin doesn’t need more products.
It needs the right one—at the right time.

Here’s how we actually think about skin inside the treatment room:

✨ What does your skin need today?

• Irritated, reactive, overstimulated?
→ BioSoothe
Calms inflammation, reinforces the skin barrier, and restores balance

• Unstable, unpredictable, not responding the way it should
→ PhytoSignal (coming soon)
Supports cellular communication so skin can function more intelligently

• Dry, damaged, barrier-compromised
→ Skin Rehab
Rebuilds and restores compromised skin with true barrier repair

• Chronically dry, depleted, mature or menopausal skin
→ SupaDry Nor’East Intense Moisture
Deep lipid replenishment + TEWL support for skin that can’t retain moisture on its own

• Dehydrated (tight, dull, lacking water—not oil)
→ Phormula D³
Delivers deep hydration without heaviness or congestion

• Daily hydration + environmental protection
→ Wicked Pissah Moisture
Antioxidant defense for real-world exposure—pollution, stress, Boston city living

• Daytime correction + UV + blue light protection
→ Daytime Beauty Cream
Supports pigmentation concerns while protecting against daily environmental triggers

• Redness, visible capillaries, flushed or sensitized skin
→ FlareLogic
Targets vascular reactivity and helps reduce persistent redness

Skin isn’t static!

It shifts, adapts, reacts—and your routine should too.
This is the difference between guessing…
and treating skin with intention.

Most people layer products based on trends.

We layer based on what your skin is communicating that day.

That’s where results start to change.

No two people have the same exact skin. Not even close.

Your skin isn’t just “dry,” “acne-prone,” or “sensitive.”
It’s a living system shaped by hormones, environment, stress levels, genetics, inflammation, and even how your body heals.

That’s why copying someone else’s routine—no matter how good their results look—rarely works the same for you.

What clears one person’s skin can trigger another’s.
What strengthens one barrier can overwhelm another.

Skin doesn’t follow trends. It responds to precision.
This is where expertise matters. Reading the skin beyond the surface. Understanding why it’s behaving the way it is—not just reacting to what you see.

Because real results don’t come from guesswork.
They come from a plan built specifically for you.

Your skin. Your biology. Your strategy.

PCOS & Your Skin: Why It Feels So Hard to Control
Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) isn’t just a hormonal diagnosis—it’s a systemic shift that often reveals itself through the skin.

When the body moves into a more androgen-dominant state (particularly elevated testosterone), the skin responds in very specific ways: • Oil production increases—often significantly

• Pores become congested at a deeper level
• Breakouts cluster along the chin, jawline, and lower face
• Cell turnover becomes inconsistent
• Inflammation lingers, leading to post-inflammatory pigmentation
This is why PCOS-related acne doesn’t behave like occasional breakouts.

It follows a pattern. It has a root cause. And it requires a different level of understanding.

Overcorrecting the skin—stripping, over-exfoliating, or constantly switching products—often fuels the cycle rather than fixing it.

What PCOS skin actually needs: • Regulation of oil production without triggering rebound activity

• Anti-inflammatory support to calm the skin at a cellular level
• Controlled, strategic cell turnover
• Barrier repair to restore resilience
• Targeted pigment management to prevent long-term discoloration

There is no universal protocol for this type of skin.
It requires a thoughtful, layered approach—one that considers internal shifts, ingredient selection, and treatment timing.

At Kerry Spindler Bespoke Aesthetics, this is where clinical experience changes everything.

We don’t chase breakouts—we work to understand why they’re happening and guide the skin back into balance.

Because when you understand the pattern, you can finally work at changing it.
