2026 GOT DONUTS male student/athlete of the year highlight:

Nominee
Alex Grant
Ridgeview High School

My name is Alex Grant and I am a sophomore at Ridgeview High School. I am a member of both the football team and basketball team and have maintained a 3.8 GPA.
I am also a member of the Bible Club and FFA. Other hobbies include owning and operating Creekside Farm and attending Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.
Growing up as a coaches son my whole life has been sports. Football has been a huge part of my life starting from my days on the sidelines when I was too little to even talk, to now, finally being the one playing every Friday night. This has been a life long dream of mine. I hope that I have made a positive impact on every kid that has looked up to me. When you’re in high school whether you realize it or not someone is always watching you. I know because I was once that kid on the sidelines and for that reason, my goal is to always be humble, respectful, and have good sportsmanship. Playing football to me is not all about how many touchdowns you score but rather developing life skills to grow into a young man. Playing with your brothers every Friday night means always having their back in victory and in defeat, and playing for more than just yourself. The memories I have made are ones I will cherish for life.
I have been blessed to have the following achievements this year.
Football
Defense: 105 tackles, 5 INT’s (2 returned for TD’s)

Offense: 342 receiving yards, 214 rushing yards, 5 offensive TDs

Special teams: 3 punt return for TDS, 1 kickoff return for TD

1st team all mtn 7
1st team all region 2D
2nd team all state
(Both db and punt returner)

I was a Mountain 7 Sports Report player of the week as well as WJHL Gaterlite Play of the Week.

Basketball
8.5 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game

MTN 7 Honorable Mention

I am excited to see what the next 2 years of high school have in store.

2026 GOT DONUTS female student/athlete of the year highlight:

Nominee
Kaelyn Dales
Wise Central

I am a junior at Central High School and take pride in excelling both academically and athletically. I currently maintain a 4.05 GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society, where I have completed many hours of community service. Through NHS, I have had the opportunity to help with concession stands at sporting events, participate in trunk-or-treat events, and work with many special needs children. I was also honored to receive the Jefferson Book Award and the William & Mary Leadership Award.

During this basketball season, I averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 55.4% from the field and 47.9% from three-point range. I earned First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, and Second Team All-State.

I am still currently in my junior softball season , I hit .300 with a .943 OPS and also contributed as a pitcher with 105 strikeouts, an 8–3 record, and a 3.65 ERA. My achievements in academics, leadership, basketball, and softball reflect my dedication and hard work as a well-rounded student-athlete.

My hope as a student-athlete, performing in front of large audiences, is to have a positive impact on younger children who look up to my team and me. I believe my hard work and dedication to both my education and athletic career have helped me grow into the person I am today. I am extremely honored and grateful to be nominated for this award, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to be recognized alongside so many outstanding student-athletes.
