Well I'm gonna rant just a minute, most know the fight that my family has had with wise county schools, which was very prosperous for some of our special needs children, Ethan has came so far, many other students have came to his school with behaviors and have successfully been transitioned back into their home schools, however some students because of age or grade have been forced into transition, and some do not do well, some were sent off to detention or residential facilities, some are in a cop out program designed to keep them out of main stream education, what I want to know is why does the wise county special ed department feel that our children do not deserve an education past 8th grade, why is there not a need to expand Ethan's school to include high school, do their problems stop at 13 or the eighth grade, I think not, so why is my child not worthy of the extra support he receives at his school into high school, why is there not a need when our children are passed by because of lack of training, or lack of heart, idk why, but Ethan school has locations across the state and they go to 12th grade, but apparently in wise county our children's problems end at middle school, extremely disappointed in how hard we fought to get a school located here for our children, just to be dropped in a most trying of times in their lives, my child's problems do not stop because the special education dept thinks so, they know me, they know I don't stand by and watch I stand by my child and his future, I do not care how the teachers in public school feel about the way things have to be for him, I care that he gets an education just like everyone else's children even if it takes the extra effort, and if they can't do it a the public level then there is most definitely a need, I will stand and fight til I die for my children just like any parent should, I fought for this school not just for my son but because other students were at home not getting any services, and it has helped many including my son who still continues to progress, so I want to ask everyone what would you do, what would you say, when would you stop, who would you stand with, I love my son Ethan McGuire and will always do what I can to make sure he is successful and help those others be the same, please share and stand up for these children who need the help beyond 8th grade
