So it's a little later than usually but it's time for Toys for Tats again. Since 2000 I have been blessed and pleased to be able to help under privileged children every year at Christmas ( in celebration of the birth of Christ ). the way the program works is that when you bring a toy valued at $10 or more we will give you a discount on the tattoo or piercing that you are getting. Those toys are then taken to children in our local area that may not be getting anything for Christmas. I match the amount of toys that are brought in and put them with the ones that are brought by you, our awesome and generous customers. In this way it doesn't put a huge burden on any one person but together we can do a lot. Two years ago there was a total of 51 children who were given a very good Christmas do to our combined efforts. Last year we only had 32. The way the children are chosen is by referral from a figure like a preacher, police officer, social worker, or family resource worker or teacher who can verify that the need is legitimate. The reason why we do this is because we have very limited resources and in the past we have had people refer family or friends and some of our resources have ended up being given to those who don't really have much need and only wanted to supplement what they were already blessed to have. i want to stress that this is for people who have nothing and need help. It is not a program to get extra presents for a child who already has presents. I would love to be able to have an unlimited budget but the simple truth is that in this day and time not many people participate in things like this and many people do good just to get things for their own family. The biggest joy Kathy and I get from this is being able to personally take these things and share the love of Christ with others. We always invite customers to go with us if they would like to and I've gotten to see some big tough bikers and coal miners with wet eyes and big huge smiles in the past. That is a real treat. In closing, I want to state that we have never turned away someone with a legitimate need and we will, God willing, continue that tradition. My cell is 276-207-4886 if anyone has any questions. As I was getting ready for church this morning I began to reflect upon the fact that any time could be my last moment here on earth. As I was thinking about it I realized that pretty much every day at some point I wonder about this. I wonder when will Christ return or when will my time here be finished. It then dawned on me that when I do think about this fact of life; it's never from a standpoint of worry or fear. That would be due to the fact that my eternity is a lot more stable and established than my life could ever be. The only worry I have is for those who never give it a thought or just reject God outright and scurry around on this planet without ever planning for their life after life. Our body's on this world may be temporary but our spirits will remain for eternity, somewhere. My only worry is for those who don't know or don't care. I remember back when I knew in my heart that God was not real. I recall knowing that the whole notion of God, Jesus and eternity was just a big scam to try and keep people in line or help line the pockets of the fakes on TV. Then one day I realized that I was wrong and the Knowledge of Christ as my savior and God as my creator replaced the false notion that we're all just here accidentally. I would never push my beliefs on anyone but if you're on the fence or even wondering a bit, Please consider the fact that if you believe that God doesn't exist and Christ is not His son who died and was resurrected to pay for the sin of each person, well, you may be wrong. I am writing this from a position of concern and love so if you reject it please understand that I in no way intend to make anyone mad or start a debate. I'm just sharing the good news before it's too late

Tomorrow I leave on my yearly bike trip that I started three years ago. The purpose of this trip has two components. The first purpose is for me to allow me alone time with God. It's important to be alone with your creator and to communicate. Communication is the foundation of a relationship and the most important relationship you'll ever have is the one between you and God. If you don't know what that's like you may want try it. Totally your call though. The other goal of the ride ( quite possibly the most important ) is to love my neighbors through meeting their needs when I can sharing Christ with them and being a shoulder to lean on if need be. I Will meet some of the most amazing people, eat with them, pray with them and do whatever I can to help make their lives better. Many of them have nowhere to live. Christ said that the birds had nests and that foxes had their holes but he had nowhere to lay His head. I don't do this to gain the praise of my fellow man or to make myself feel big but as an act of worship and obedience to my God and king. ( getting to ride my bike for 6000 plus miles is just an added benefit ). All prayers for safety and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Why would I want to share my beliefs with others and tell them of the impact Christ has had on my life? We all know that a large number of people, a majority no doubt, don't want to hear it and may even be a little aggravated by it. Why then would I take a chance on annoying someone with my silly Christian beliefs and the antiquated gospel that people have heard so much they're bored? Is it simply because the Bible tells me to share the information? Perhaps I just want to force my beliefs on people because i think I'm right or I want to be the morality police. I can sum it up in one word. . . LOVE. I have seen the influence that Christ can have on a life destined to fail; not just mine but others. I have seen, with my own eyes, people be healed of illnesses that were a virtual death sentence. I have seen people ensnared by countless addictions freed from those chains and loosed to be the person that God created them to be. If you are a Christian you should have that same LOVE. The Bible instructs us to love our neighbors as ourselves but what does that really mean. it doesn't say LOVE your neighbor unless they are _________ fill in the blank. It does not say to support anything that goes against scripture but that should not be our focus. What someone may be caught up in or distracted from God by is really none of our concern. The fact that they are in need should be. Rest assured that it can be nothing more sinful than what has had a grip on each of us at one time or another. What should be our concern is their life here and after death and ultimately a knowledge of Jesus Christ that brings salvation, peace and joy. How are they feeling, are they hungry, are they warm, are they hurting, do they know that someone is praying for them, is there something weighing their hearts down, is there something we can do to help? We should spend more time as Christians paying attention to how WE act than paying attention to how our neighbors act. Look at it this way; if you had been sick and to the point of death and someone gave you the remedy and it really healed you, what would you do with that knowledge? Would you keep it to yourself while pointing out the sickness that another is being destroyed by and comment that its their own fault? A true follower of Christ would try to give it to anyone suffering from that same thing. Depression, guilt, addiction, anger, fear, confusion, helplessness, hopelessness, lust, greed and the list could go on forever. These are all diseases of the heart and will destroy a person more efficiently, painfully and effectively than any disease known to man. These illnesses are worse because they allow a person to live and hide the symptoms from those around them while they just fall apart until it seems too late to help. They kill from the inside out. Jesus Christ is the answer and that is why I share what I have seen. I will never tell someone something I have not witnessed personally, because that is hearsay. The truth is what sets people free and LOVE is a vehicle by which that truth can be spread. LOVE your neighbor as yourself. It's the right thing to do. I LOVE YOU, GOD BLESS YOU, GOOD NIGHT
