AHC is excited to collaborate with The Rage Room in Piney Flats to bring discounts to our clients!

We believe sometimes, you just gotta let loose. And what better way than to smash some things in a controlled environment and have a lovely cool down in their massage chairs afterward?

Thank you to the Rage Room for partnering in this collaboration. Ask your therapist about a discount card that you can use at the rage room!

Sometimes the pressure is not just coming from what is happening around you — it is coming from the belief that you have to handle all of it perfectly.
You may feel responsible for staying calm, solving problems, supporting everyone else, and making sure nothing falls apart.
That can become exhausting.
Therapy can give you a place where you do not have to be the strong one for everyone else. It can help you process what you are carrying, recognize unhealthy pressure, and build more sustainable ways to cope.
You deserve support too.

Parents and caregivers need support too.

When so much of your energy goes toward making sure everyone else is okay, it can become easy to overlook your own stress, emotions, and mental health.

You may be managing work, appointments, schedules, household responsibilities, financial pressure, and the emotional needs of the people you love — all while trying to keep everything moving.

You are allowed to have a space that is about you too.

Therapy can provide an opportunity to process stress, work through difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, and make your own well-being part of the conversation.

Taking care of yourself is part of taking care of the life you are working so hard to manage.

For a really long time, I thought I had made it to this point in my life because of this terrible thing that happened to me.

Only recently have I learned to give myself credit for the work I’ve put into healing.

I’m not here because of the awful moments. I’m here because I kept showing up for myself, even when it was hard.

So when clients try to give me credit for their progress, I reflect it back to them.

Who’s the one who showed up for appointments over and over?

Who’s the one who was vulnerable with someone they barely knew, or stuck it out long enough to feel comfortable sharing their darkest moments?

Who’s the one who sat with the pain and did the work to move through it?

Yes, as therapists, we help along the way. But I am not responsible for your healing. Your effort is crucial, so…

Give. Yourself. Credit.

Even when you’re in the depths, give yourself credit for sitting with it. Sometimes, it feels like we’re going backward. Sometimes, we have setbacks. That doesn’t erase the work we’ve already done.

Because life is going to throw curveballs. We’ll make mistakes. We’ll have hard days. We might even find ourselves back in places we thought we’d moved past.

But that doesn’t mean we’re starting over. It means we’re human.

💥 So, where can you give yourself credit? Let’s hear it in the comments! 💥

I don’t care if it was getting out of bed this morning. Brushing your teeth. Setting a boundary. Asking for help. Getting through a hard day without giving up on yourself.

Give yourself credit for the small things. They add up.

And then, keep showing up for yourself. You are worth the investment. ❤️

Saying “yes” to everything can eventually leave very little energy for yourself.

Maybe you agree because you do not want to disappoint anyone. Maybe you avoid saying no because you are worried about conflict. Or maybe taking care of everyone else has simply become your normal.

Healthy boundaries are not about pushing people away. They can help create relationships where your needs, time, and emotional well-being matter too.

Therapy can help you recognize patterns of people-pleasing, strengthen communication, and practice setting boundaries without carrying so much guilt afterward.

You can care deeply about others without constantly putting yourself last.

Sometimes you can be functioning well on the outside while struggling on the inside.

You may still be going to work, taking care of your family, keeping appointments, and handling responsibilities — while also feeling anxious, emotionally drained, disconnected, or overwhelmed.

Being able to keep going does not mean everything feels okay.

Therapy can give you a place to talk about what is happening beneath the surface and work toward healthier ways of managing stress, emotions, and everyday life.

You do not have to reach your breaking point before your mental health deserves attention.
