Meet Our US National Weather Service Morristown Tennessee & US National Weather Service Blacksburg VA Speakers: Anthony Cavallucci & Nicholas Fillo!

We’re excited to welcome Anthony Cavallucci and Nicholas Fillo from the National Weather Service (NWS) to our inaugural United Disaster Preparedness Symposium on September 22nd!

Anthony and Nick will lead a breakout session featuring training on how communities can become StormReady® certified, providing practical guidance to help communities strengthen their weather preparedness, communication, and response capabilities.

With more than 28 years of forecasting experience, Anthony has served with NWS offices across the country and specializes in translating complex weather information into clear, actionable guidance.

Nick, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the NWS in Blacksburg, brings more than 25 years of meteorology experience and has worked through numerous significant weather events in Virginia, including the 2012 Derecho, the 2016 West Virginia flash floods, and Hurricane Helene in 2024.

🚨CHILD CAR SEAT RECALL ALERT🚨

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall involving certain Britax infant car seats.

NHTSA Recall ID: 26C006

Affected seats include certain models of:
• B-Safe Gen 2
• B-Safe Gen 2 FlexFit
• B-Safe Gen 2 FlexFit Plus
• B-Safe 35
• B-Safe Ultra
• Endeavours

A screw in the car seat’s carrying handle may come loose, which could cause the handle to partially detach. If this happens while the seat is being carried, a child could fall and be injured.
Britax is currently developing a remedy for the issue. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by October 19, 2026.

Check your car seat’s exact model information using NHTSA’s Recall Look-up Tool to determine whether your seat is included in this or another recall.
