On World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, we're highlighting the important role hospice and palliative care play in helping patients and families navigate serious illness.

Both hospice and palliative care focus on comfort, quality of life and support, helping patients receive care that aligns with their goals and wishes. Palliative care can begin at diagnosis and alongside treatment. Hospice care is typically chosen when treatment is no longer working or a patient decides to stop curative treatment for a terminal illness, shifting the focus to comfort, quality of life and support for both the patient and their loved ones.

💜 Hospice Volunteers Make a Difference—Even Behind the Scenes! 💜
When people think of hospice volunteering, they often picture volunteers spending time with patients and families. While those roles are incredibly valuable, administrative volunteers are just as essential to our mission.
From answering phones and organizing paperwork, mailings, and special projects, administrative volunteers help ensure our hospice team can focus on providing Compassionate Care and support to patients and their loved ones.
Volunteering in an administrative role is not only helpful—it can be deeply rewarding. You'll gain valuable skills, connect with a caring team, and know that your efforts directly contribute to the comfort and dignity of those we serve.
Every task completed, no matter how small it may seem, helps make a meaningful impact.
Looking for a way to give back? Consider becoming a hospice administrative volunteer. Your time, talents, and dedication can make a world of difference.

On this snowy, cold Monday, here is some news that will warm your heart! We would like to take a moment to recognize our Care Center for becoming an official Level 4 partner of the program, We Honor Veterans, through the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization!

This is a huge accomplishment for the Care Center and would not be made possible without the dedication and passion for the cause from our Veteran Liaison, Tom. He is a valuable asset to us and many of our veteran patients to whom he lends a unique level of support. And a special thank you to our Volunteer Coordinator, Chantira, for working diligently with Tom to get this recognition!

We appreciate the efforts of our team to get to this point. Veteran patients will always receive the extra needed support and care they deserve, and we are a very proud partner. If you would like to learn more about We Honor Veterans, follow the link below!
