The Falmouth Road Race… ever popular with doctors and teachers! If you haven’t run it, it is highly recommended.

Falmouth Road Race is fortunate to have so many educators as part of our team.

We’re grateful for the people who help bring our race to life while also inspiring the next generation in the classroom. Thank you for all you do—teaching, leading, and going the extra mile every step of the way. 🍎🏃‍♀️

All of us who were working at Cape Cod Hospital the day this tragedy happened will remember it always. From the EMS crew on scene, to the ED team that tried to save him, and the hospitalist/ICU docs that hoped we would get the page to admit him. We recall how many police and firefighters were present in the ER that night, hoping for better news. Also the long procession of emergency vehicles that wrapped around the block.

His life was important, and it is heartening to know that with so many caring individuals in our community, his end of watch will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Sgt. Gannon.

Today marks eight years since the End of Watch for K9 Sergeant Sean M. Gannon. The Falmouth Police Department joins the Yarmouth Police, the Cape Cod community, and law enforcement nationwide in remembering a true hero.

Sergeant Gannon was killed on April 12, 2018 in the line of duty while assisting with a warrant in Marstons Mills. His partner, K9 Nero, was also seriously injured but survived after extensive care. Though eight years have passed, the weight of this loss is still felt deeply across the Commonwealth.

While the pain of April 12, 2018, never fades, we find hope in how his legacy has been carried forward:
- Nero’s Law: Enacted to ensure our K9 officers receive the lifesaving medical transport they deserve.
- The Gannon Center: A training facility at YPD where officers and K9 teams from across the country come to sharpen their skills.

To our brothers and sisters in Yarmouth and to Sean’s family, we stand with you. Sean’s memory remains a powerful reminder of the risks taken by those who serve.

Thank you for your service, Sean. We have the watch from here.
