POV: You’re “meal prepping” sweet potatoes 🍠💨

What started as a simple side dish turned into a full-contact sport. The potato had places to be — namely my husband’s head, the dogs’ nap zone, and somehow… the toilet. 🚽😂

Survivor Husband took another one for the team today. 🏅 The dogs have filed a formal complaint. 🐶

Building muscle after 50 isn’t about training harder—it’s about training smarter 💪

The rules change once hormones shift. What worked at 30 will leave you sore, tired, and spinning your wheels at 55. But muscle is absolutely still on the table (I’m living proof 😉).

Here’s what actually moves the needle now:

✅ Lift HEAVY—progressive overload, not endless reps
✅ Prioritize protein at every meal (most women over 50 are way under)
✅ Recovery is a strategy, not laziness—sleep + rest days build the muscle
✅ Strength 3–4x/week beats hours of cardio for body comp

💪 Men keep commenting that I look “like a man.” I’m about to turn 56 with arms I’ve earned rep by rep, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🔥

Here’s what they don’t get: muscle is what keeps us strong, metabolically healthy, and capable as we age. It protects your bones, your blood sugar, your independence. Every woman over 40 should be lifting heavy and proud of it. 🏋️‍♀️

So if my toned arms make someone uncomfortable, that’s not my problem to solve. Keep lifting. Keep thriving. Your future self is counting on it. ✨

My summer office has no walls and the views change daily 🌳☀️

Here’s how I actually run my business at this point: I take my client calls, answer emails, knock out DMs, and make all my phone calls while I’m walking 📞👟 No desk required.

It’s the easiest way I’ve found to hit my step goal without “finding time to exercise” — the movement just lives inside my workday 🚶‍♀️💪

Your body was built to move, and after 40 those steps do more for your metabolism, your mood, and your energy than another hour parked in a chair ever could.

After 30 years of coaching women, I can usually spot it on sight 👀

The women who actually look fit at 40, 50, 60+ aren’t grinding themselves into the ground. They’re doing 5 things consistently 👇

1️⃣ Lifting heavy 🏋️‍♀️ — real weight, progressive overload (not 3-lb pink dumbbells)
2️⃣ Protein first 🍳 — 30g+ every meal, because muscle is the organ of longevity
3️⃣ Walking daily 🚶‍♀️ — movement, not punishment
4️⃣ Protecting sleep 😴 — 7–9 hrs is when you build muscle + balance hormones
5️⃣ Working WITH their hormones 🔄 — not against them

None of it is extreme. It’s just consistent — and it’s exactly what I coach. 💪
