At JHC Hospice, our volunteers are truly the heart of what we do.

In 2025 alone, 54 incredible volunteers made 1,460 visits to 133 patients, providing over 2,000 hours of compassionate care and support. From companionship visits to pet therapy and administrative help, their impact reaches every corner of our program.

Today, we are proud to have 39 active volunteers supporting 50 of our patients—with many more ready to step in when needed.

Our volunteers span generations, from students to retirees, each bringing unique experiences but sharing one common purpose, to provide comfort, connection, and dignity at the end of life.

We are endlessly grateful for the kindness, dedication, and heart you bring to our patients and families every day.

Today on International Women’s Day, we honor the women who walk a path few choose, yet so many depend on.
In Hospice, women show up with quiet strength, steady hands, and compassionate hearts—guiding families through their darkest moments with dignity and grace. They carry stories, hold space for grief, and ensure that every life is remembered with care.
