✨John Catalano, a versatile musician based in South Central Pennsylvania
🎶He specializes in solo performances but can assemble his eclectic ensemble when required.
🎸His musical journey began with classical music as its foundation, with acoustic folk influences from fingerstyle legends like Mississippi John Hurt, Brownie McGhee, and Sonny Terry. Rising from electrifying (if you know him, you’ll dig this comment) events in the mixed-up 60s and 70s, much like a banged-up Phoenix dusting itself off, his style infuses genres like Gypsy jazz and a splash of Beatles. Imagine a Maverick roaming through melodies reminiscent of music from before even my mom's era!
🎵Previously, he was the director and owner of the Catalano Conservatory in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Now, he focuses on teaching private music lessons and performing at events. His ensemble features a mix of acoustic sounds with guitar, percussion, violin, and vocals, occasionally joined by a visiting horn player.
🎶John is passionate about blending music with new technology and actively engage on social media, making it easy to connect with me online.
