Spur of the moment, but I had to let you in on this little part of my world. 🤍 Here’s a peek behind the curtain: this is how every frame line at Joyful Eyes earns its spot on our shelves. Here’s the thing — most optometrists hand this part off. They never touch frame selection. But me? I love this side of the business too much to let it go. There’s something about holding each frame, imagining it on your face, picturing the moment you find the one… I just can’t help myself. So I curate every single line by hand. Right now I’m falling for our new Fossil collection — each piece chosen by me, with you in mind. 👓

Come see what made the cut. ✨

Worthington came through with the most on-brand accessory we’ve ever received. 🔥
A little fire-engine red, a little gold-leaf signage, and suddenly the sidewalk is having a moment.

Your favorite eye look might be the reason your eyes feel dry, gritty, or look red. As an optometrist, here are the makeup habits I recommend.

✨ Keep liner above the lash line — your waterline hides tiny oil glands that keep your eyes comfortable
✨ Respect expiration dates (mascara ~3 mo, liner & shadow ~6 mo)
✨ Choose ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free formulas
✨ Never sleep in eye makeup — remove it gently every night
✨ Go easy on lash glue & tightlining
✨ Daily lid hygiene = a happier tear film

Still red and irritated no matter what you try? It may be more than makeup. Book a dry eye evaluation with us — we’ll get to the root of it. 💙

Sure you can sleep in your contacts. You could also start hitchhiking. I don’t recommend either. The “I just napped in them for an hour” crowd. I see you. The “I haven’t taken these out in 4 days” crowd. I see you too, and we need to talk. Sleeping in contacts is one of the most common things I get sheepish confessions about in the exam chair. It feels harmless, until the morning it isn’t. Swipe through for what’s actually happening to your eyes overnight — and what to do instead. This is your friendly reminder to take those contacts out tonight.

The Vision Squad starter pack:

✨ a group chat that never sleeps

laughter you can hear from the lobby to the lanes

someone definitely getting roasted (lovingly)

Snacks, snacks always

And somehow — the sharpest, most thorough eye care in town.

💚 We work hard. We laugh harder. We tease each other relentlessly. And we genuinely love what we do — and who we do it with.

Here’s the thing: a space shapes the people in it. The wallpaper, the chandeliers, the checkerboard floors, the neon glow — every corner of this clinic was designed to feel joyful on purpose. And it works. It brings out the best in us, and somehow, in everyone who walks through the door, too. 💚

“I’m going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life.” — Elsie de Wolfe. She said it in 1913. We’ve been quietly building a clinic around it ever since. Every wallpaper. Every brass fixture. Every checkerboard tile. Every lane painted by hand. Not because it’s expected of an eye exam — but because the people who walk through our doors deserve to see beauty the moment they arrive, long before they ever put on a new pair of frames. That’s the whole thing. That’s Joyful Eyes.

1 in 3 school-aged kids in the U.S. is nearsighted — and that number is climbing every year.
Myopia isn’t just about needing glasses. Higher prescriptions later in life mean higher risk of retinal detachment, glaucoma, and early cataract development. The goal of myopia management is to slow that progression now, while their eyes are still developing.
Stellest lenses are one of the tools we love. They look like a regular pair of glasses, but the lens design gently signals the eye to slow its growth — up to 67% slower progression with consistent wear.
Swipe through to see how they work, who they’re for, and what to expect.

Let’s talk about the mineral we mention more than almost any other in our exam rooms: magnesium.
If you deal with frequent headaches, migraines, that maddening little eyelid twitch (myokymia), or eyes that ache in bright light — magnesium glycinate is one of the first things we’ll bring up. It’s a gentle, well-absorbed form that tends to be kind to the stomach, and it plays a quiet role in nerve and muscle calm.
It’s not a cure, and it’s not for everyone — but it’s a small, low-cost thing worth asking us (or your physician) about at your next visit.
