A day at Blooms & Berries Pumpkin Patch was the perfect way to enjoy the fall season and make lasting memories. Everyone had a wonderful time being outdoors, taking in the autumn atmosphere, and sharing in the simple joys of a community outing.

We love creating opportunities for the people we support to try new things, connect with their community, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

At Toward Independence, we genuinely believe that the most valuable things in life are the connections we build and the experiences we share. We've seen firsthand how these relationships and shared moments are what truly bring richness and meaning to our lives.

This last Saturday, our Board of Directors met for our annual board retreat. We greatly appreciate our volunteer board for dedicating their time and insight on a Saturday for 6 hours to help us guide our agency and set our agency's vision.

Our board discussed trends and impacts in our field, things happening locally in Ohio, as well as federal and national influences. We celebrated our past progress and discussed goals and plans for 2027. We also reviewed how TI is doing in hiring, retaining our employees, and had great engagement on strategic questions about the future of TI and how we can continue to provide the best quality of supports to the people we serve and our employees.

We are so proud of our Board of Directors and the diverse perspectives, expertise, and passion they bring to our mission. Their commitment and dedication play an important role in shaping the future of Toward Independence.

Thank you to our board members for your continued support and commitment! We're excited for the rest of 2026 and all that 2027 has in store!

As DSP Recognition Week comes to a close, we want to say thank you to Direct Support Professionals everywhere.

Across communities, DSPs make a meaningful difference every day.

And while this week is a celebration of all DSPs, we want to give an especially heartfelt thank you to the DSPs who are part of the Toward Independence family.

We see the early mornings, the long days, the patience, the laughter, the challenges, and the countless little moments that make a difference. We see the relationships you build and the trust you earn. We see the ways you encourage independence while making sure the people you support continue to have a voice in their own lives.
