Weโ€™re excited to share an update on our journey to bring Independence Park to our community!

Our goal is to raise $2 million to create an accessible park designed for people of all abilities. Thanks to the generosity of our community, donors, and foundations, weโ€™ve officially raised $100,000 toward that goal! ๐ŸŽ‰

That means weโ€™re 5% of the way there, and every dollar brings us one step closer to making Independence Park a reality.

Last week we celebrated the 94th birthday of one of the wonderful individuals we have the privilege of serving in Cincinnati!

Ted reaching 94 years young is an incredible milestone, and it deserves a celebration just as special as the person we are honoring. Over the course of 94 years, there have been countless memories made, stories shared, friendships formed, challenges overcome, and moments that have made a lifetime truly meaningful.

We are so grateful to be able to share in this special celebration and to be a small part of their journey. Birthdays like this remind us that every person has a unique story, and every year is another chapter filled with experiences, relationships, laughter, and memories worth celebrating.

We were honored to welcome State Senator Kyle Koehler to Toward Independence, Inc.

During his time with us, Senator Koehler learned about the history of individuals with developmental disabilities, the legislation that has advanced their rights and opportunities for community inclusion, and the ongoing need to strengthen Ohio's direct support workforce through increased Medicaid funding that supports higher wages for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other dedicated employees.

One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of our hydroponic and aquaculture garden, led by the individuals we support. They proudly shared their work and demonstrated how meaningful employment and community engagement create opportunities for growth, independence, and success.
