Hi, I’m Kirsten.
I’ve been a physical therapist in the Yakima Valley for 14 years. I started in orthopedics and added pelvic health to my skillset 9 years ago. It really became the missing piece to my total body approach, especially for lower back and hip pain conditions.
I really enjoy looking at the body holistically and incorporating a head-to-toe approach that includes healthy habits like nutrition, recovery, mindset, and exercise for total body health.
I especially love treating:
• Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
• Diastasis recti
• Runners, lifters, and athletes dealing with leaking
As a busy mom of two, I do my best to fuel my mind, body, and spirit by eating healthy, lifting weights, trail running with my dogs, and cross-country ski racing & coaching at White Pass.
Something I say a lot:
“Something is better than nothing.”
Something I wish patients knew before starting PT:
Think of PTs as body mechanics — the work we put in now will keep your body going and performing. We can be helpful in both prevention and post-injury care.

We feel so lucky to have Kirsten on our team! ✨

Most people are told how to care for the incision itself but not always what to do once it’s healed. Scar management can help improve mobility, sensitivity, pulling, tissue restriction, and reconnecting with your core and pelvic floor after surgery.

In the early healing phase:
• Focus on keeping the incision clean and dry
• Avoid direct scar work until the incision is fully closed with no scabbing
• Always follow your provider’s recommendations and healing timeline

Around 4–6+ weeks postpartum (once fully healed and cleared by your provider), you can often begin gentle scar mobility and desensitization work.

This progression shows a gradual approach:
• Light touch + texture exposure
• Gentle pressure + skin movement
• Progressing into lifting and mobility work over time

Scar tissue can sometimes become sensitive or restricted after surgery, which is why gradual movement and desensitization can be so helpful.

It should never feel sharp or intensely painful and every recovery timeline is different. Listen to your body and your provider.

If you’re unsure where to start, a pelvic floor PT can help guide you safely through the process.

Save this for later or send to someone postpartum.

Most people think “core” = abs… but it’s so much more than that.

If you’ve noticed:
• leaking with running/jumping
• back or hip discomfort
• weakness postpartum
• or just feel like your core isn’t firing right

A core screen is a simple way to understand what’s actually going on.

We’re offering free 30-minute core screens with our PTs to walk you through it and give you direction 🤍
