Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (an option to eliminate the underlying source of biological degradation) is prepared through a PRP process which is then filtered leaving the final preparation of highly concentrated A*M; not through dehydration, but by filtering out the non-A*M components. CAREstream America is the only option of filtration (vs. just dehydrating everything). The results are often dramatic.
A summary is -
· Alpha-2-Macroglobulin, located in the blood, attaches to destructive enzymes and eliminates them through the body’s own natural processes.
· Inflammatory cells are removed while isolating & concentrating the A*M component by over 6x.
· The naturally occurring A*M molecule is the body’s own defense mechanism, but may be unable to enter the joint or disc space in high enough quantities due to its large size and complex structure. If you're wondering why so many have turned to/are turning to CAREstream America you're not alone.

Another new client's first time out with CAREprp.
This (from this morning) right out of the centrifuge. Let it sit for a minute and the buffy coat/red blood cell layer settled nicely into a straight line.
Then, by rotating the bottom collar, pushed the buffy coat to the bottom of the neck of the tube, let it sit for another 30 seconds to settle some more and then slowly pushed a bit more (to where the top of the red blood cell layer was in the middle of the neck of the tube).
That way we captured the monocytes and lymphocytes along with some additional platelets and left the inconsequential neutrophils behind to serve as an additional barrier from the red blood cells; yielding a Monocyte-Rich PRP. Pushing a bit more would yield a Leukocyte-Rich PRP and less (to the bottom of the neck) for a Leukocyte-Poor PRP.
Not all systems are perfect all the time for every patient so we have our standard parameters and if, by chance, something doesn't come out right (variabilities from patient to patient) we can make some simple adjustments to the tube and spin again for 3 minutes.
The yield can be customized as can the process if needed.
Our weekly training keeps us well-educated and constantly evolving and we pass that on to you. Once internalized you can easily make these adjustments (in a matter of seconds) when needed.
Truly a system that can serve many patients quite well with the corresponding gratification of a job well done.

I don't get easily excited, but sometimes do and now is one of those times. Just spent a few hours last week with our Water-Assisted Liposuction Clinical Specialist (who's a Nurse and an Engineer) and two Clients (and their entire Staff) to put the finishing touches on getting my head completely around the larger system.
The small one has been very popular because it's ideal for harvesting small volumes of fat for facial procedures; so it's "it" for Facial Plastic Surgeons.
The larger one (as pictured on the left) functions the same, but just has more functions and can do it all (to include small volumes).
You may be asking "Why Water-Assisted Liposuction" (vs. traditional methods and/or manual fat harvesting). A few highlights are:
- a gentle spray loosens fat and simultaneously aspirates/automatically micronizes with almost no destruction of fat cells or surrounding tissues
- much higher quality of harvested fat without harvesting unwanted tissues
- the quality/viability comes from the method of harvesting and not from processing - you begin with the best quality right from the start
- the survival rate of harvested fat is around 90%
- may complement an existing system, but is still easier on the patient when performing liposuction without fat grafting (no tumescence technique, shorter procedure times, general anesthesia not required, very high patient satisfaction, etc.).
