Staff Spotlight: Meet Bethany, Licensed Social Worker! 🌟

Bethany is genuinely one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people I’ve met. She cares deeply about her residents and their families, as well as her co-workers, and goes above and beyond for everyone. If you have had the pleasure of meeting her, you know it to be true.

Her heart for service runs deep—from teaching ESL classes and supporting refugee families in San Antonio right after college, to spending over a decade caring and advocating for seniors in Ohio.

“I’ve always had a heart for the elderly, starting with a really close relationship with my grandparents,” Bethany shares. “As soon as I walked in here, I knew it was different. The environment is friendly, family-like, and truly focused on giving back to our residents and increasing their quality of life.”

What a night at the Feast of Friends! 🍽️✨
For those unfamiliar with a progressive dinner, it’s a bit of a fun mystery: guests are assigned a secret host home and only discover where they’re dining on the night of the event. Whether stepping into the home of a brand-new neighbor or sharing a table with a lifelong friend, the evening was a beautiful reminder of how tight-knit, welcoming, and generous our Yellow Springs village truly is.
From salmon and filet mignon to homemade butter chicken, every single host created a unique, unforgettable dining experience for our guests.

A MASSIVE thank you to our volunteer hosts! You were extraordinarily gracious, welcoming, and thoughtful. This night couldn’t have happened without your hospitality and heart. 💛

Fundraisers like the Feast of Friends are vital as Friends Care Community steps into an exciting new chapter. With major campus expansions in the works over the next several years, these vision-driven projects rely heavily on community support to come to life.

WHO DONE IT?!

For weeks, a resident and their family member have been trying to solve the mystery of the disappearing bird feed.

Was it the birds? Another animal? A very hungry neighborhood visitor?

Well… we finally caught the culprit in the act!

The verdict is in: GUILTY!
Apparently, the bird feeder has been serving up a little breakfast for one very sneaky deer.

Mystery solved. Case closed!

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Tina, LPN! 🌟

From a dream of becoming a nurse as a young girl to being a beloved part of our Friends Care family, Tina’s passion for nursing shines in everything she does!

Originally from Springfield, Tina worked as an aide and medical assistant before earning her LPN. After her daughter Shelley (who is a valued member of our clinical team!) told her how wonderful it was to work here, Tina joined us two and a half years ago. We couldn’t be happier to have this amazing mother-daughter duo caring for our residents!

We see firsthand every single day just how thorough, dedicated, and wonderful Tina is. She takes her work so seriously and puts her whole heart into every detail of her care. To Tina, our residents aren’t just patients—they’re family. She brings her signature warmth, s***k, and deep compassion to work every single day, leaving families with complete peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in the very best hands. We love and appreciate you, Tina 💙
