Dear Friends: Just a quick update on our Fall Festival coming up tomorrow, Friday, October 16th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM! Since the forecast calls for rain until about 3:00 PM, we might just get lucky!

Please note our weather plan: If it is wet and stormy: We will move most of the crafts, activities, and music indoors into the Octagon Room of the health center. If the sun comes out: We will proceed outside in the Assisted Living parking area (fingers crossed!).

Either way: The food truck and vintage car show will be outdoors! We have so many wonderful local partners joining us!

You can look forward to-
Creative Crafts: Featuring hands-on activities with local creative reuse organization, Sister Trillium!
Custom Portraits: Available for purchase by local artist Tony Lewis.
Complimentary Drinks & Treats: Delicious hot tea provided by CommuniTea Love of Yellow Springs, plus fresh c***r and pumpkins generously provided by Peifer's Orchards, and homemade desserts from our Independent Living residents!
Great Food & Entertainment: Live local music, lawn games, and delicious food available from the Dirty Chicken food truck! This is a free, family-friendly event for our whole community. Rain or shine, it’s going to be so much fun—we can't wait to see you there!

Team Spotlight: Meet Our New HR Director, Pam! 🌟

We are thrilled to welcome Pam to the Friends Care Community family as our new Director of HR!

Pam brings a wealth of experience spanning both manufacturing and healthcare HR. She also ventured into teaching for a bit—even earning her teaching certification at Antioch—before returning to the business world to follow her passion for human resources.

Outside of work, Pam is a proud mom of two adult children and loves spending her free time crafting, entertaining friends, and getting her hands dirty in the garden.

When asked about joining FCC, Pam shared how much her heart is warmed by an organization that truly practices its mission, noting the wonderful atmosphere and deep compassion our team shows toward both our residents and each other.

Welcoming Our Newest Co-Op Student: Meet Kai!

We are excited to introduce Kai, a senior at Antioch College who is joining the Friends Care Community team as part of Antioch’s Co-operative Education Program!

Kai is completing a major in psychology and joining us to gain meaningful hands-on experience, learn more about working in healthcare and senior living, and grow both personally and professionally. Antioch’s Co-op program plays a vital role in giving students real-world opportunities to explore their passions—and we are so glad to be a part of Kai’s journey.

Please join us in giving Kai a warm Friends Care Community welcome when you see him at our front desk on evenings and weekends!
