Hey strangers, sorry it's been a minute since I've posted kidney updates, infact it's been well over a year. But boy what a year it's been. Last time I posted i talked about my high risk pregnancy. As you can assume I'm no longer pregnant. My little girl arrive early last September and it's been a journey. I was only 34 weeks and 5 days along when she had to arrive via emergency c-section due to sudden onset preclamsia.
She spent 15 days in the NICU before coming home and had to go through foot casting and a small surgery for 8 weeks before being put into corrective boots due to her having a clubbed foot.
My kidney function dipped a little then came back up and now usually rests in the 70s. I get blood work every 3 months now instead of monthly.
All this was very hard for a while. I dealt with tremendous guilt for my little Evelyn being born early and everything she went through. I ended up with postpartum depression and I've never experienced anything like that before. I don't think I would have made it through that without my husband, my mom, my best friend, and my cousin.
Now I am trying to get back to living life with my little girl. Already have taken her for a couple of hikes and even got two camping trips in so far.
It's amazing though looking back at all i went through in just the last couple years and seen where God helped me through it and stood beside me every step of the way. I think it probably looks like how I hold my little girls hands as she does her best to walk. I think that's how God is with us. He holds our hand but lets us try, even when we get wobbly or we fall He's still holding our hands ready to help us try again.
I know He is with me even now as I get off the ground and try to move forward being a better mom for my little one and trying to take care of myself so I can be the best mama for years to come.
