Soon we'll be celebrating Mother’s Day!

And today, we want to celebrate the role that lives beyond just that title.

The care, the patience, the showing up again and again.
The rides, the reminders, the check-ins.
The making sure that things are okay.

At SPARC, we see that every day.

For many, that’s mom.

For others, it’s someone who has stepped into that role in their own way, a parent, a sibling, a grandparent, a caregiver, a staff member.

It doesn’t always look the same.
But the heart behind it does.

Today, we’re acknowledging the people who hold it all together, in big ways and small ones.

We see you.
We appreciate you.

And we’re really grateful for who you are (regardless of your title) and for everything you do.

It doesn’t always start with “Hi, what’s your name?”

Sometimes it’s standing next to the same person every week until it just… sticks.
Sometimes it’s tapping someone on the shoulder instead of starting a conversation.
Sometimes it’s sharing a snack, handing someone a game piece, or copying what the other person is doing.

It might look like:
⭐️ sitting close, even if no one’s talking
⭐️ repeating the same phrase or joke to someone you like
⭐️ walking over and just being there

Not everyone communicates the same way.
Not everyone makes friends the same way.

But the feeling?
That part is the same.

And at SPARC, we make space for that to happen, naturally, in its own time, in its own way.

You don’t see everything bloom at once.
It starts small ... a little more light, a warmer day, something just beginning to show.

And then one day, what wasn’t there before… is.

That’s how it looks here, too.

Someone who didn’t talk much starts joining in.
A familiar face becomes someone you sit with every week.
Something that felt new starts to feel normal.

It doesn’t happen overnight.
But it grows.

And we’ll take that kind of growth, every time!

For some, tomorrow, , will be a reminder to think about Autism.

For us, it’s just part of everyday life.

It shows up in our programs, in our routines, in the way people communicate, connect, and spend time together.

It’s not something separate. It’s already here, woven into everything we do.

No big shift for us tomorrow.
No different approach.

SPARC programs give people places to be, things to do, and people to do them with.

Level Up brings everyone together during the week with bowling, dancing, creating, moving, and spending time with friends.

Link Up takes that energy out into the community, with outings and experiences that build confidence and comfort being out in the world.

Weekend & Overnight Adventures shake things up with trips and getaways that turn into stories people talk about long after.

Our participants love music that they can feel in their bodies.
They love movement, rhythm, and getting lost in a beat.
And even when it's not them on stage, they love shows where the sound is big, the dancing is nonstop, and the energy fills the room.

So what better way to bring that all together than to go see MJ the Musical?!

We’re excited to sit together, take it all in, and share an experience that speaks to what our participants already love so much.
