When progress feels slow, remember these things:
1. Progress is not always linear – growth can happen in bursts, with pauses in between.
2. Small wins matter – tiny changes often lead to big breakthroughs over time.
3. Skills may show up differently than expected – progress doesn’t always look the way we imagine.
4. Lean on your support team – your child’s therapists, teachers, and other caregivers are there to partner with you, celebrate wins, and support during the hard moments.
5. Hard days to not erase progress – setbacks are part of learning, not signs of failure.
6. Limit comparison – Another child’s path has nothing to do with your child’s potential.

Still smiling thinking about last year’s golf outing fundraiser 💚⛳️

Mark your calendars – the 2026 ASAP Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 13th at Lake Forest Golf Club. All proceeds will go towards supporting ASAP’s mission to decrease drowning rates for children with Autism worldwide. Sponsorship and sign up information will be available shortly!

This week we are saying goodbye to one of our amazing interns, Miss Carley. Carley has been a clinical intern at Arbor Autism Centers for the past year and will be returning to her graduate program to become a speech language pathologist! Thank you so much for everything you have done this past year, we will miss you!!

Arbor Autism Centers offers clinical internship opportunities for those interested in taking a gap year before attending graduate school. Interns receive valuable opportunities to observe and assist with speech therapy, ABA therapy, feeding therapy, occupational therapy, and aquatic therapy. Taking a moment to look back on the wonderful field trip our amazing staff and kids enjoyed at the Michigan Flight Museum.
Everyone had a fantastic time exploring the interactive exhibits and learning in an engaging environment. It’s a great reminder that learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom. We’re already looking forward to our next field trip!
