In Uruguay, this is a collaborative work between a doctor and patient from 2010: The patient's spine was broken into two segments, and his central nervous system was severed. His gait while walking is visible in the video. He had been completely paralyzed for over two years. The central nervous system is composed of cells; how could cells be completely damaged? We conducted over 300 trial treatments, and he had been walking for over 15 years. Looking back, the treatment process was fundamentally based on his unwavering belief that he would one day walk again. He was the case I was looking for. Therefore, we achieved our respective goals. Back then, the definition of complete central nervous system damage—that cells cannot regenerate—was explained. Out of curiosity, I ultimately succeeded. I, Zhuang Guoqiang, became someone who understood how to treat paraplegia.
