🐐 In the Virgin Islands, there’s an old saying: “Hungry as a goat tied to a goby tree.” A goby tree, or calabash tree, gives fruit goats can’t really eat — so the goat stays hungry no matter how much is around it.
The same thing happens when we go too long without planning meals or snacks. We end up grabbing chips, candy, or fast food — foods full of empty calories that don’t truly satisfy or nourish us.🥜🍎 The fix? Plan ahead. Keep balanced snacks nearby like fruit, nuts, yogurt, or edamame, and build meals with protein, healthy fats, and fiber-rich foods. That way, when hunger strikes, you’re ready with foods that fuel your body instead of leaving you stuck hungry for more.
