June is National Scoliosis Awareness Month.

Early detection can make a difference during growth. If you notice changes in your child’s posture, such as uneven shoulders, uneven hips, leaning to one side, or clothes hanging unevenly, talk to your child’s doctor about a scoliosis screening.

According to the National Library of Medicine about 47% of infants exhibit some degree of flat head syndrome. While mild cases can improve with repositioning techniques and physical therapy, about 25% have a severity for which helmet therapy is recommended. Between the ages of 4-6 months, a helmet can gently guide the skull to a more symmetrical shape. If your pediatrician has expressed concerns, give us a call - we’re here to help! 340-714-1009.
