Recently, I realised that I haven’t done one of these price lists for a while! Also, people generally find these videos, so I thought it was the perfect time to bring them back! Malaysia’s pricing system is really interesting too, let’s take a look.

I found prices in Malaysia to be very interesting. Some things were cheap, others more expensive, and because of this I couldn’t make my mind up if Malaysia is an overall cheap or expensive country. I guess I would put it somewhere in the middle. I understood alcohol being expensive (Muslim country) but I wasn’t sure why some activities were quite pricey. On the other hand, food is very cheap (especially local food) and taxis I thought were very reasonably priced too.

Have you ever been to Malaysia? What did you make of the prices?

Hawker centres in Singapore are special. They’re not just food stalls, they are so much more. Let me explain.

Asides from offering a variety of extremely tasty food for prices that seem too good to be true, they are a way of life, a symbol, a pillar of Singaporean culture. They are somewhere where people from all classes and from all backgrounds can come together and enjoy food from all different sort of cultures. The variety of food available is actually what epitomises these Hawker centres and Singapore as a country - a friendly, multiethnic society.

Visiting one (or as many as you can) of Singapore’s Hawker centres is a must do activity. They’re not just cheap food stalls where you eat, they represent Singaporean culture and how everyday Singaporeans enjoy their meals. If you’ve not been to a Hawker centre in Singapore, then you’ve simply not visited Singapore.
