After the success of the Inaugural Pacific Islands Society for Emergency Care (PISEC) Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting in Samoa on 14 August 2026, we are proud to formally announce the newly elected PISEC Executive who will serve and lead the Society into its next chapter.

Please join us in congratulating our new office bearers:

President: Dr Mafa Lokenga (Fiji)
Vice President: Dr Trina Sale (Solomon Islands )
Treasurer: RN/NIC Belinda Tolai (Samoa)
Secretary: RN Sheetal Nand (Fiji)

As we celebrate new leadership, we also pause with enormous gratitude to acknowledge those who carried the vision of PISEC from its early beginnings.
For the past seven years, our outgoing office bearers have given their time, energy and leadership to building this Society from the ground up. What began as a shared vision grew into a regional community, bringing Pacific emergency care professionals together and culminating in our historic inaugural Scientific Conference in Samoa.

We sincerely acknowledge:

Dr Aird Hill Pai Enosa - President (Samoa)
Dr Garry Nou - Vice President (Papua New Guinea)
Dr Mafa Lokenga - Treasurer (Fiji)
Ms Shanistika Shivalni - Secretary (Fiji)

To our outgoing leaders - thank you. Thank you for believing in what PISEC could become, for giving your time when there was still so much to build, and for creating a foundation upon which the next generation of Pacific emergency care leaders can continue to grow.

The conclusion of Samoa 2026 is not the end of this journey. We are delighted to acknowledge Vanuatu as the host country for the next PISEC Scientific Conference in 2028. We look forward to coming together once again and continuing the conversations, partnerships and friendships that were strengthened in Samoa.

To our partners Regional Emergency and Critical Care Systems Strengthening Initiative, National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre (REP), Foundation, Pacific-Community-SPC and the Vincent's Pacific Health Funds - our sincere gratitude for walking alongside PISEC and supporting the development of emergency care capacity across our region.

And to every delegate who joined us in Samoa: thank you for being part of this historic moment. We hope you returned home carrying not only new knowledge, but new friendships, stronger networks and renewed confidence in what we can achieve together.

We hope you experienced and enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Samoa, and that your time at the conference was an investment in you, your teams and ultimately the communities we all serve.

Congratulations to our new PISEC Executive. Thank you to those who have led before them.

The journey continues - from Samoa 2026 to Vanuatu 2028.

Working together, strengthening emergency care, and continuing to build a Pacific-led future for our people.
